Exciting announcement from Jamie and I regarding the Great British Hobbit League YouTube channel!

As those of you who follow the channel know, whilst the emphasis began with covering the recent explosion of tournaments on the UK scene, in an effort to encourage more wargamers to take up Lord of the Rings SBG, as well as give the current community plenty of content to gobble up, we have been releasing a steady flow of battle reports, interviews and reviews, as well starting unboxings and other content ideas.

We are excited to announce that we have been accepted onto miniwargaming.com's partner programme! As a site which promotes wargaming to hundreds of thousands, they as of yet do not cover our great system. Although the criteria is usually to maintain a large number of subscriptions, we have been accepted to provide Hobbit/LOTR content! However, in order for this relationship to survive and prosper, we need your help, and must gain more subscribers.

Therefore, our exciting news is that should we hit 100 subscribers soon, we will run a draw where one of those subscribers can win a brand new, completely free box of RIVENDELL KNIGHTS.

Well if you make up the remaining subs up by creating many Google+ accounts to sub on YouTube. TBH if you were to on a mass "Chinese style" Facebook "like" spree , you MIGHT just convince people that The Hobbit / LOTR SBG is increasing exponentially... ofc that will take ALOT of time.

I dream of enough players one day to fill the Birmingham NEC , although if they are all LOTR players that will take some serious increase of interest , never say never

Congratulations guys, a bit of extra media certainly won't do any harm to our hobby

It put a huge smile on my face since the MiniWargaming store is only about an hour away from my place. I've never really had an incentive to visit due to the lack of SBG interest.

I've noticed the channel's videos on their main page… are there any other goodies that comes with being a partner?

Lastly, as a suggestion to help increase subscribers:

Has the channel considered filming battle reports centered on scenarios? People that aren't familiar with this system might be enticed to click a battle report covering Goblin Town/Mines of Moria over regular points matches. Plus, it’d be a nice change up to see unique characters in action once in awhile (The Fellowship, Tom and Goldberry…)

We're currently recording with a camcorder, an iphone/google nexus and an old Digital Camera I had knocking around.

We're looking to improve the quality of our recording equipment over the coming months.



Yes, I keep pushing James to do this but he's in love with his Rohan. We also want to get the models painted and looking nice before we record.

It would be cool to do a series following the journey books.
