Apparently there is no LOTR content at all in the new White Dwarf.

A bit of disapointment, not that I was thinking of buying it......

yeh been through it and it does say lotr in the cover but there is no content in there, bit disapointing!!!
i think when things start getting released it will pick up so if you can flick through before hand for a sneaky look to see if there is content would be the best bet.

There is about 3 lines of LoTR in there, got a picture of some rangers and duinhirs command. And a nice picture of gandalf at the very back. But yeah, dissapointing.

To those who've got it. what's it like? Are there actual articles and useful write-ups in there or is it still "Here's what's new!" "What to spend your money on!" and "Display of what we have for sale!" as the bulk of it?

What, if anything, is getting re-released in finecast next month?

Hmm...that's interesting. Maybe that new 40K box took some steam out of them? Either that or most WFB and 40K items are plastic or finecast already, so they're not going at the same speed anymore.

I'd like to think that they've realised the error of their ways, and are now researching another method.

What's more likely is that they've chosen the easiest sculpts to convert to finecast already, and they're having a little more trouble with what is still metal.

I've added a copy of the contents listing on my site click here if anyone wishes to have an idea about what's in this month's WD.

I love the nice simple layout with fresh but not obtrusive background. Enjoyable site to browse with good content. Still jealous of the clean Dwarf Commanders you received.

I thought the photography of the miniatures was horrible. Very dark, had to see details. The overall format is nice, but nothing mind blowing. No real painting or terrain articles. Lame. Not worth the dollar increase in price if you ask me.

What worries me is that next month if they release all the Hobbit info ( I am assuming since next month will be November's issue ), is that there will be no new terrain and they just reuse the gaming boards and stale terrain they always use.

They increased the price? What a surprise...I think I'll stick with Wargames Illustrated.

I gave up WD years ago to put the cash towards minis. And you can get virtually the same information on the GW website (eventually) or from other sources, so there is no incentive to buy, really.

Pity there's no Lotr content. The local GW employees seem to think the amount of LotR/Hobbit stuff should be increasing by now.

It's been even worse lately, articles have been non-existant. I must say, I do like picking up older (2002-2006) issues for a buck a piece! Articles like "The Beacons are Lit" and soforth made it so much better imo.
