When I bought my Mines of Moria set, I went out of my way to make sure I could swap out weapons on the Cave Troll. The seam at the wrist is barely visible thanks to some careful prep work and blending the paint job so that it matches with either hand attached.

I'm nowhere near Heavy Metal standard as far as my painting goes. I definitely think they could have done a better job on the Troll wrists.

What are those? Albino goblins? This is a real bummer for me for I'm just building a Moria army... They look weird.

From the sounds of it, they're in a different army list for Warbands. No reason you couldn't have the Great Goblin as a stand alone Hero though, I suppose.

Yes. The new rules that have been added with the release of The Hobbit are an addition and upgrade to the existing rules.

And, btw, hello everyone. First post. :)

Hello and welcome! Well this is a relief than. I hope they will publish some conveting rules for current Goblin forces into Moria army and etc.

I shall not distracted by this and finish my MoM set since tens of goblins are still sadly waiting to be painted.

Also this does not effect any LOTR sourcebooks right?

Hello to you as well :)

As for your question: I assume that it wouldn't affect the sourcebooks.

You mean to tell me GW can't pop open two boxed sets and do up one of each? They're even more miserly than I thought it that's the case!

Why paint five trolls when you can paint three?
They do it with 40k all time. Pretty sure you can see blu tac and on the plastic hive tyrant :yay: and

Ohhh, so they're cheap AND lazy! I see now

I bet they're glad their customers don't have that attitude; "why paint 36 Goblins, 4 of their Heroes, 13 Dwarves, a Wizard and a Hobbit when I can paint none?!" :P

Come on guys, the new sculpts are EASILY the best they've done in years, especially the faces and the details. But it all looks very cartoonish and warhammerish, for which WETA is to blame, not GW. GW did a great job at sculpting and I think the dwarves look nothing short of amazing, along with both the new Gandalfs. I would love to see the size difference between these goblins and the misty mountains goblins. (They live not so far from eachother..)

Quote:
Too bad I won't be able to afford any of this, I would've loved my litte guilty pleasure after all these years, but not with prices through the roof like this. Is anyone ACTUALLY spending €60 euros on 4 miniatures?:/ (White Council)

That's just plain wrong. I can sort of understand 35 euros for the wargs, 40K has had pricing like that for years and years, but the hobbit should really be aiming at kids, and I don't see how kids can afford all this. "Hey daddy I want the white council!" If I were a daddy, I wouldn't exactly agree with that. :/

I'm a "daddy" and I ordered the LE and it's waiting for me under te tree, but you're right, I'm NOT going to pay €60 foor only 4 mini's. Sorry GW, it's just too much  !!! So I'll be looking on e-bay in a while and hopefully I'll find them there much cheaper!

Does anyone know when the Grimhammer Dwarves are to be released? Just saw their pics in the new rulebook and can't wait to add them to my dwarf army!

I don't understand his Goblin-chucking pose though. I don't recall him throwing one of his minions in the film (I REALLY need to see it again!)

I know monsters can now hurl models, but does that mean we should be expecting every monstrous model released up to now to be remade in a "throwing x duder" pose? I want Gwaihir picking an Orc up in his wing and throwing it...

He has a special rule that lets him throw goblins.
