Here you go. Low quality pics of Smaug. Finecast for 490$. This is Games Workshop...

That is very cool indeed. Do want. Also want to see a model - or possibly banana - for scale...

Edit: holy moly! Hold the banana - just spotted the Bilbo.

Looks good. The size of the base is mumak size? It might see some play with decent rules.

It may be the quality/darkness of the picture but the face looks a bit odd? Just me?

Either way I am glad it exists and I look forward to seeing the rules and the mighty dragon in action!

I noticed that about the face too but I suspect it's just because the pictures are very dark...

Very impressive indeed, must weigh a couple of kilos.

Looks much bigger than a mumak base to me.

Yeah you're right. I think I was just hoping it would be a small base with a large body. Seeing the little biblo in blue laketown clothes shows just how big it is. This will be some sight on the battle field! And more importantly in some collectors show cases 8)

What a beauty such a shame I have to safe a lot cash for this miniature, but it is definetly on my wishlist! Also being very curious about the rules that wil come out for him. Perhaps they wil be making a necromancer mini now aswell. One can only hope for this

They already have a Necromancer model^

Hmm with it being Resin I'm hesitant now. I love the sculpt, but I'm not a fan of resin

So far the range of models released has exceeded all expectations. The price and fact they are in finecast is another issue. They are at the very least being released and will have profiles meaning fans can recreate scenarios. It's a positive time to be in the hobby.

With the current releases I will bet on there being a Necromancer.
The releases seem to be themed so far; Elves week, Dwarves week and Laketown/Smaug week. If they have a week for orcs and bats and all other nasty evil things then I can imagine the Necromancer will be the main piece in that release. We may even get twilight ringwraiths, if they released smaug anything is possible!

How do you figure? Given that Bilbo is standing on it it looks to be Mumak sized to me.

Thanks for posting! 8)

Certainly big, and resin isn't a big surprise (in plastic, the rumoured pricetag would have been lower - judging by the Mûmak, Nagash etc.). Certainly an impressive size - wouldn't want to paint that with a regular brush. Best part has to be the base though, looks great.

Well, the film version has a pretty large lower jaw with this odd upward-curving mouth already (something I'm not a fan of); it seems more exaggerated here.

That's quite the dragon! Very impressive, sizewise too.

I agree on the face being a bit odd. Might look better on better quality pictures, that is.

I think a Necromancer is very likely, after all more figures released in the LOTR range have gotten new models now as well. Hoping to see more Ringwraiths as well, and hopefully some white council stuff. Although it looks like most of the White Council will be wearing the same outfits as in the earlier AUJ set. But really hoping to see Elrond in his gold armor.

Orcs, bats and others nasties are among the other sets I count on coming up.

I take that back - comparing the height of Bilbo to the length of the base and the height of the EFGT Bilbo and my Mumak, Smaug's base may in fact be ~2" longer

That's a possible release that I'm most keen on together with the new White Council, I suppose.

Fingers crossed it's actual Resin and not Finecast, because that's a pretty cool dragon. I'll wait and see what people think of it when it's innhand, but roght now I'm veering towards the unoficial Smaug.

Shame, because that's a pose I can work with (by which I mean ruin completely, by modelling him to match my usual basing style, and doing Bilbo as a seperate mini). I'm in no rush, though.

FW have it for a long time and people been buying it for long long before this smaug was made, it just takes extra care for you to do it, still I wouldnt be discourage by resin (just let you guys get off the box and experience a bit of forgeworld world range)

Man, it's actually happening, we have a Smaug model now! :D

I think it looks fanastic, but I won't buy it anytime soon, simply because I don't have the storing space. The price is also another factor.
