I imagine an Eagle, Fellbeast or Dragon would not "throw" its victim. Rather they would grab it with their claws, fly up into the air then drop it. If its flying in a particular direction, thats a lot of forward momentum imparted to the victim.

Remember the scenes in Return of the King, when the Fellbeasts attack the survivors of Osgiliath fleeing back to Minas Tirith, or when they grab defenders from the walls during the Siege of Minas Tirith and drop them to their deaths?

Thats what Hurl (?) is for flying creatures.

I personally would never bother with that particular rule, unless your opponent is just about to claim an objective at the very end of the game or something as it's usually just a waste of a goblin.

I have seen it used with great results against my goblin town goblins. An eagle with two attacks gets to roll multiple dice against the thrown model with, and potentially a lot more strikes against enemies in range of the attack. It works a treat against tightly packed horde armies, and can buy much needed time slowing down any surviving miniatures st they are knocked to the ground, which also means that they are vulnerable to not striking back if you can charge them! So in short, it can make a massive difference if used well, particularly compared to an eagles 2 attacks which do not come with a knock to the ground (which I feel is an oversight!).

Now having seen the film four or five times, the Eagles clearly cannot get enough of this special move either!

Nearly time for the next lot of releases! Hopefully only a month to go! Can I get Thorin's Company and finish of a decent chunk of the range before then?

That's a shame, I was generally quite disappointed when the thread was revived but to hear that its still under wraps, as I thought that we might have some images of new stuff!
