So the other day, I had a couple of questions for games workshop. I emailed them, and I'm not sure if anyone has actually emailed them about the "Expected to despatch within four weeks" minis, so I decided to do so myself.

Myself, I don't know if anyone has confirmed what's really going on with those minis. I was a little worried about those minis since I hadn't got a few. Even though GW staff are probably not the best source, but one of the best for certain rumours. I have a quote from the email GW sent me, answering my questions best they could. I'm worried I'm rambling now, so I'll stop and show you a cropped reply to my question...

Take what you want from that, I'm just merely providing it as evidence to what ever is going on :-D

I just ordered 4 blisters of grey company that had the same availability status, but the invoice said usually ships in 24 hours which later changed to no longer available, they were shipped the day after I ordered them. So in personal experience the availability status on the product page is garbage because I ordered an oop mini that for shipped next day and changed to no longer available but still says expected to dispatch within 4 weeks. Just lazy updating I suppose. Even if it says 4 weeks order it anyway you may get it sooner like me as they probably don't update incoming stock as frequently for less popular models.

It only really means if the item is in stock it will take up to four weeks for it be dispatched to you. Basically they need four weeks to find the item in their stock, all that rummaging about and all. They sent the standard e-mail reply full of misleading information as GW does. Out of stock means "Unavailable" NOT "Dispatched within four weeks"

Hope that helps :D

I also e-mailed GW recently about this issue and the reply I received stated, that in the personal experience of the person who replied to me, when the models are listed as four weeks dispatch, they are generally due for re-cast, re-sculpt or about to be removed. She did qualify it by saying that is purely her experience and not an official statement or guarantee.

Regardless, as a result of this, I immediately panic bought some models from Australia that were no longer available on the UK/Ireland site and some from that site that were listed as four week dispatch that I needed for my collection. I will be keeping an eye on the website regularly and will probably pick up any that change to four week dispatch, that I don't already have.

It seems that once the LOTR range stock is gone, it's removed from the site. The items I bought from the Oz site have since been removed from that page as well.
