These would only be worth buying if they each contained a special edition coloured paint, or revived a classic paint in each set, like 'Base: Iyanden Darksun' and 'Layer: Scorched Brown'. Otherwise, they're pointless. Just one-click-bundles for paints.

Yeah but they're so much cheaper! I just started my paint collection as well as buying brushes just before these came out. I've got 3 brushes and about 40 paints. I could have saved tonnes.
Edit: Oops. I was on the American site when I thought I was on the Australian. Turns out you don't actually save much.

What in the nine worlds is that thing on the box?

I suspect it's intended to be the golden demon.

You know, I'd be mildly interested if the Golden Demon miniatures (the ones that the big urine coloured demon is painting) that are represented on the box came in the boxes. Might make a nice little collection. Alas that they're only fictional miniatures.

I use Vallejo or Army Painter paints wherever possible and try to avoid Citadel paints now.

Very few of these new paints are superior to the previous incarnations, and most of them are inferior, the washes are simple dreadful.

Why anyone but the most green novice would want to buy a predesigned box of them is beyond me, there are bound to be a couple of colours per box at least you could live without so any saving is instantly gone. And the packaging is just 'cringe'.

This is not GW bashing it's just pointing out an inferior product for what it is.

I like the paint set box designs, They remind me of the sets from the late 80s.

When I first heard of these sets, I thought GW where doing something along the lines of Reapers Learn To Paint Kits, but alas.

I do like that they started using the golden demon again.

I enjoyed the you tube videos they produced in conjunction with the paint bundles. Great tutorials.
