I was using an old camera for this one, so some of the pictures are out of focus (no macro function) but they aren't bad even without macro
Scenario One – The Lay of the Land:
Forces:
Defenders/Good (149):Minor Hero: Ori – Dwarf Ranger with Two-Handed Axe and Throwing Weapons
2 Dwarf Warriors with Shields
4 Dwarf Warriors with Dwarf Bows
7 Dwarf Rangers with Two-Handed Axes and Throwing Weapons
Attackers/Evil (150):Minor Hero: Weast – Morannon Orc with Shield
8 Morannon Orcs with Shields
7 Morannon Orcs with Spears and Shields
Turn 1 – Priority Good:The Dwarves retreat slightly so they can fire their bows. 2 Dwarf Rangers stay out of the battle, but 3 are placed by the Evil player, and 2 by the Good, and they come on behind the Dwarves lines. The Orcs retreat slightly (the cowards) to stop themselves being shot at, while 5 more Orcs flood to reinforce their battle lines, all placed by the Evil side (curse you, Orcy luck)
Turn 2 – Priority Good:The Dwarves advance slightly, readying their bows, whilst the Rangers charge forwards. 2 more Rangers appear, placed by the Evil side. The Orcs retreat again, forming a battle line whilst another Orc rushes to join them, placed by the Good side.
Turn 3 – Priority Good:The Dwarves advance again, whilst the Evil forces rush towards them (stupid Orcs), another Morannon Orc joining the battle, leaving one with Shield out of the battle, for now. The Dwarves let loose their arrows, but only one manages to dent a shield.
Turn 4 – Priority Good:The Dwarves change tactics and retreat, whilst the Orcs rush towards them, the final Morannon Orc still not joining the battle. The first Morannon Orc falls, leaving Weast vulnerable.
Turn 5 – Priority Good: The Dwarf Rangers rush to one side apart from the latecomers, who go to the other side, while the Dwarves prepare a final volley. The Orcs charge forward cautiously, while the final Orc arrives (clearly he had to put make-up on). Weast hides behind his soldiers again. Three throwing weapons bounce off the Orcs, while an arrow takes down a Spear-Orc (good work Dwarves)
Turn 6 – Priority Evil:The turn where the Orcs didn’t want priority, they get it, as the Orcs move round towards the 2 Rangers. The Dwarves turn to face them, and the Orcs waiting. The Dwarves ranged weapons bounce off the Orcs.
Turn 7 – Priority Evil:A spear-Orc sacrifices itself, as the main battle line clashes with the Rangers. The rest of the Dwarves move to help the 2 Rangers, with the 2 unengaged archers shooting down the late Morannon Orc (make-up can’t save you now), another falling to the throwing weapons. The suicidal Morannon Orc was pushed back, whilst 2 Dwarf Rangers a Morannon Orc fell in combat (don’t hurt the short people!)
Turn 8 – Priority Evil:Both forces call Heroic moves, with Evil winning the role off. The Orcs attack as many Dwarves as possible, with the Dwarves countering the attack. One Dwarf archer is killed and the battle could rest on the next turn.
Turn 9 – Priority Good:The Dwarves leap into combat, axes flying, both Ori and Weast going into combat. The Orcs rearrange their lines slightly. Weast is defeated but remains unharmed, but 2 Dwarves and an Orc fall.
Turn 10 – Priority Evil:
The Orcs all launch themselves at the Dwarves, before the Dwarves launch their counter-attack. Another Dwarf archer is slain in the melee.
Turn 11 – Priority Evil:The Orcs, furious now, yell and attack the Dwarves, who prepare for a defeat. Weast finds himself saved by Fate, as a Dwarf and a Morannon Orc are slain, ending the battle.... and all the Dwarves needed to do was kill one more Orc.
Evil Minor Victory: 1 Campaign Point.Weast recovers his Fate Point but fails to recover his Might Point.
Ori also fails to recover his Might Point.
