I totally agree. But if GW replaced the existing packs with such packs, they would be even more expensive then they already are, and since I'm only 13 years old, it wouldn't be possible for me to continue with LotR... :(

Same... on just about everything...

Love the idea though! :D

not only would they be more expensive, but GW would probably make the sculpts weird or out of proportion or something around those lines, after all they put almost all of their effort into OOP scults for WH/40k anyways

Now that I think about it...couldn't you just use army of the dead for that?

Nope. Because they would be identical to the Ghostly Warriors in that case.

I'm thinking, some Numenorians, High Elves and Orcs, drill out the eyes, distress the clothing and armour and maybe add some greenstuff plant tendrils.

Why don’t you try drilling holes in their cloaks/bodies and then use putty to give the holes a jagged edge.

Hi all

Got to hold and look carefully at the plastic sprues for the Galadhrim infantry and Galadhrim Knights today.

All heads are separate. One bare head the rest helmeted in each box. I guess you can use the bare head to denote a captain!

The standard bearers arm in the Galadhrim Knights box is capable of being added to one of the Galadhrim infantry figures, so two boxes of knights and a box of infantry and you can have a standard for the Knights and another for the infantry.

Shields are all separate so you can have:

1. elven swords/glaives and shields;
2. elven swords/glaives only
3. spear and shield; or
4 spear only
5. elven bow only

Separate right arms allow you to make many poses.

Really versatile.

Was also told that the old metal Galadhrim standard bearer (on foot) which was originally in the "Heroes of Hems Deep" box set is going to be re-released as a single metal.

The detail on the new plastics is excellent - painted properly they are gonna look very very good.

'review' of the new plastic sprues. Seems like we are very close to multi Part LOTR plastics! :D

That sounds very, very promising.

I'd like to see mordor orcs as multi-part, just for the variation...

Two things would impress me -

1. The inclusion of enough shields for all the models.

2. The models being of a non-Elven nature...

Which narrows it down to Humans or Dwarves...

Sort of.

Orcs are elf related...

Isn't the new Mordor troll multipart?

They are elf related!

I'd quite like to see Mordor Uruk-Hai, but the problem is that they may become a little too frequent in armies...

I can't think what infantry I'd want to see in plastic... Woses... that would be cool.

lol yes elves and orcs are brothers under the skin. That's why they hate each other so. Same with orc (gaarew) players and elf players. :P

Orcs were spawned from Elves through acts of torture and malice.

But yes, that may be true.

I was under the understanding that Gaarew hated everyone?

:)

That boy learns fast.

Pointy-eared, tree-hugging nonsense aside, it is a small step in the right direction.

But not enough.

Essentially, you are just getting the same as the Haradrim Raiders box. Yes, some have spears, some have bows, some have open hands to add either option. And there is a Banner arm.

The troops sound OK in composition, but not great. There should be enough shields to give every model one. Or at least the non-bow armed ones. They should have a banner too.

The Troll could be considered a good kit, were it not for the fact that, no matter what you do, the pose is pretty much the same, because every possible permutation is built from the same body.

What? Like orcs, goblins, Spock, some lycanthropes....
I wonder is anyone contemplating a conversion of the plastic? Hacksaws at dawn and all that sort of thing?
