Anyone else think the new GW paint pots are a real pain - they just don t want to stay open unless you snap the plastic hinge -- why change them they were fine before .....annoying!

The hinge clip caused paint to leak down the back. A big flaw in their design.
I just ram an old brush in between the lid and pot to keep it open.

I don't like the old one and I don't like the new one either. You guys should use vajello paints. The Game colors line is n exact duplicate of the the GW colors, but their squeeze bottles work great.

Mm thanks for the tip, i'll try and have a look if there is a quick guide to 'translate' between vajello and GW paints

They are the same, even have the same names for the colors I believe. My friend has the whole set.

I know that a lot of you guys use Vallejo paints, do they really match up that well?

And how exactly do they compare in terms of price and availability? I've always used GW paints, but if they're substantially cheaper they might be a viable option; but I wouldn't want my colour schemes to look different.

How is this a problem...unless you're painting directly from the pot? Better to get some on a palette, watered as necessary, and then close the pot.

They match up exactly if you use their Game Colors sets. I like their Models Colors set, which used more muted shades.
