Interesting read

Makes you wonder what how things like this will effect the future of GW?
Some many more companies are beginning to produce new systems with there own IP, look at the rise of Steam Punk for example.

No matter what it is creating a more varied market for new and old players, meaning less money is/will be spent on GW products. Interesting times ahead?

The increased Competition is good - hopefully it'll force GW to rethink its business model and prices.

Interesting times indeed and it's good to think others feel confident enough to offer alternatives. In many ways this will make GW feel less comfortable and might shake them up a bit.

Recent publications and Kickstarters that may be of interest to the sc-fi gamers include:
Sedition Wars (more stuff coming for that including at Salute)
Warzone Resurrection (just finished with almost 5 times the target - in early days mutant Chronicles was the other big games pitched against the early WH40K)
Warpath (Mantic are taking this to Kickstarter this summer to expand the range)
Dropzone Commander (smaller scale, more like epic WH40K in 10mm)
DUST warfare & DUST Tactics (can use same minis as either a tabletop wargame or an elaborate boardgame)
X-Wing (should need no explanation...)
And if you dig around on Beasts of War, Tabletop Gaming News and other sites and retailers there are many many more - Infinity, Mercs, load of stuff.
I hope it makes GW have a serious think about how they are going to remain viable.
I would like to know more about HOX.
