Hey gang. After all three hobbit movies have been released by GW, do you think that there will be a massive fusing with the LOTR range? I certainly do.

They could make one big universal rulebook containing all of the rules for both LOTR and Hobbit. They could combine the two ranges and create one big Middle earth range but I doubt that. They will probs just keep the ranges separate. I'm sure that there are many rules that were invented with the hobbit release that also apply to lotr but you won't know for sure because they haven't upgraded the lotr rulebook.

No point in having two rulebooks with almost identical rules.

I doubt it. Though it makes sense and GW would probably want to do it, they have a massively hard time keeping the two IPs separate.

They are the same range already.

I thought they couldnt combine the range because of the new line rights? The rights for LOTR are probably different than the rights to The Hobbit.

My guess is that they will keep the ranges seperate.. that is the rule books, box cover and website articles.. Bit silly though but still

The only reason everything is called 'The Hobbit' these days, is either becaue of obligations to other parties, or simply because that draws in more people than 'Lord of the Rings' at the moment. The rulebook is in all intents and purposes a new edition for LotR as well, there is no seperation: it says so in the book at various moments, which also explains why LotR models (and even some rules for those: siege engines) are in fact in that very same book.
The Hobbit rulebook replaces the old ORB as the latest edition of the core rules - which is why the latter is no longer available.
