Post subject:  Models on Display ?

Hi all - my collection is growing quickly and I'm looking for some ideas for storing & displaying a pretty good sized collection (over 200, with another 200 yet to be painted). Would anyone be kind enough to post a few pictures of your own display cases/cabinets/shelves/other display areas at your home for me to use as inspiration ? Don't be shy, I'd love to see as many different ideas as possible from everyone, as I'm sure there are some fantastic ones out there :)

thanks very much !

My wife said i cant display my minis all over the house. She didnt want to feel like she was walking around in an rpg game. So until I get a really big house where I can set up a permanent shop, I keep mine stored in hard cases I bought from gw and a soft case i bought from battle foam.

I'll take a few pics once I'm off work but I use my painting desk (a very large office style desk), and the adjacent bookshelf for most of my storage

I use model train displays. They are long, about three models wide and have glass sliding windows. They usually come in three to four levels. You can also put them just about anywhere in the house too. I could pack in 800 models in my four level but I don't have that many so I set them up into battle scenes. My trolls fit in nicely. My balrog and fell beast do not.

Question - Are the model train displays expensive ?

No. Especially when compared to the hobby/minatures.

Doesn't it get very dusty after a while?

Hi all - I'm still really hoping for some pics - won't any of you help me out with a couple pics of your display cabinets or shelves at home ?

I know some of you must have some impressive setups, right ? :)

You may be surprised.
I have about 400 in a cabinet collecting dust, they are only done to a table standard and not worthy of display.
My newer, better work is placed on two cabinets I have built, literally on a flat piece of wood exposed to dust etc.
I would like to get some proper cabinets but that will have to wait.
I will post a photo when I have the cabinets finished off.

Here is my cabinet:

About half of them are in there, those ones I have used since moving into this apartment. The rest are still packed away in boxes in a closet.

Unfortunately all of mine are packed away. I really want to have space to display everything properly one day so I'm also hoping there is going to be a flood of great pics to see how everyone else does it.
