Warlord games produces a line of [word deleted] troops. They would make very good mahud proxies with little to no conversion

Is [word deleted] a not ok word on this site? It's the name of the people from the land of Kush. I've never heard it used as a slur or anything.

What are we talking about, I feel the most important word was censored here

The "s..t" is being censored by the forum haha.

Here is a link to the kush*te range by Warlord that will work

I am tempted to try these out, they're awesome Mahud alternatives

I'm not a fan, they have too much hair

I can't imagine it would be that difficult to shave the hair off the minis.

I find hair to be easier to sculpt than a bold head... I know I'm weird

Seriously, I would like to know why [word deleted] was removed? That is akin to deleting the word Greek, Roman or Mexican. I would like an explanation. I'm not trying to be contentious, I really want to know.

Man, that's weird. Hopefully this doesn't become a Barrels type discussion...

Also they don't look like strength four models to me.....

The word is being deleted because the middle part of it is a prohibited word. Spell it Kush-ites and it should be fine.

There's no perfect match, but I like these guys pretty well. Many Zulu minis look good, too. The Perrys' plastic Mahdists have several bald heads, which might be more to some folks' tastes.

Most S4 models, including heroes, don't look stronger than S3 models, in my opinion.

That makes sense! I didnt even notice the middle of the word.

Anyone know good Mahud Raider proxies? That's more important to me personally. I can't justify $13.25 per model for something I'd want 6 of especially in two poses.

Hmm, well, a number of historical manufacturers do make camel cavalry, but they're generally for Crusades-era Muslim armies, and don't really resemble GW's Mahud beyond the fact that they're riding camels.

Warlord also does some Roman and Persian camel riders:

Perhaps converting some of those would work, but it would take a fair amount of sculpting on your part if you want them to look like the GW models.

+1

Also, here is another good Mahud proxy. They don't look as "primitive" but they do appear like a str 4 mini

jdizzy, in mu opinion those look far more like good Corsair proxies than Mahud. Useful anyway!

I am planning on doing the same as the guys at the start of this thread at some point.

I think these would make a good base for some camel riders

The same thought crossed my mind after posting. Either way, as you said, a useful proxy. My main goal is to have some proxy stand bys as the last days approach us.
