I just realised Arwen is Aragorn's aunt. Her dad, Elrond, had a brother Elros; who chose to be human and was the first king of numenor. Go down the kings of numenor (number x) and you get Elendil and then Isildur. After Isildur, you get all the kings of Arnor united (number y) all the kings of arthedain (number z) and all the chieftains of the dunedain (number a) That means Arwen is Aragorn's great (x+y+z+a) aunt. That is very, very creepy.

Incest is common in Middle-ages, be thankful Arwen and Aragorn aren't siblings. |

Not just in the Middle Ages! If you look at the royal families of the European countries that still have monarchies almost everyone is everyone else's cousin. The Queen and Prince Philip are third cousins through Queen Victoria. |

I wouldn't call them family when there are 39 generations between Aragorn en Isildur. And Elendil was a descendant from the kings of Numenor. And another 24 kings before you arrive at Elros, uncle of Arwen

Technically, that wouldn't make her his aunt. Rather they would be cousins. |
