Hey all. There's a local fan convention being held here this weekend and I found (against all hope) some older Lord of the Rings miniatures there. I grabbed a blister of metal Orc bowmen and a blister of Kings of Men, both still on green Fellowship cardbacks. There were a few other bits there, including Golfimbul new on blister. I know he's out of print, but for the asking price of $24 I didn't want to just grab him. How often does he pop up for sale? Would he be good trade fodder? Is the asking price too high?

Its probably right around the right market price since he is OOP and he is both foot and Mounted, so you're getting two miniatures. Not a great deal, but not a bad one either.

Yeh its not a bad price for the figure - i would probably have paid it without trying to keep hold of the money when handing it over to the seller. The price for this guy varies widely. Sometimes you can pick hm up dirt cheap from ebay and sometimes he goes punches well above his weight. Nice model tho.

Alright you guys have convinced me, especially since they were the only LotR minis I saw there! :( I'll pick up him and the two blisters of Mordor Uruks I was humming and hawing about. Considering a metal foot and mounted blister is between $32 and $35 these days, I think it'll be a deal.

One further question: the original "ice cream hat" Suladan. Is he in demand at all?

Demand isn't the word, but he's certainly harder to find. I'm glad I have a couple in the box. :-)

Well, I'll see how I do with sticking to my budget. If I have money left and he's still there on Sunday, I may as well get Suladan.

Some people prefer the old Suladan as the old Suladan won't break his back under the weight of a ludicrously sized back-banner.

Yeah, I have the old one and I like it better. My disdain for new Suladan though stems more from the mask. I was a huge GI Joe fan as a kid, and the newer Suladan just reminds me of the character Serpentor!
