Hello forumers!

It's been a long time since the last time I was able to connect to the community(lots of uni work and stuff) and I'm happy I got again now :D
During the last couple of days I'm painting a knights of minas tirith set and I would like to make one of them look like a mounted captain.
The colours I used for the other knights aren't something special.I used GW's ironbreaker for the armor and GW's abbadon black(if i spell it corectly) for the clothing along with some highlighting and shading.
But I got stuck when I had to paint the captain and I would love some help for colour ideas on the captain. The model i will use is a regular knight(i'm not so good on conversions).
Maybe I will paint the horse diffirently too.
Also I will try to put a little facial hair on him with some green stuff to make him look like a war veteran.
Any ideas are welcome. I'm really stuck.
Thanks in advance!!!

Maybe paint the captain red or blue cloth, and highlight his tree gold. If you look at all the horses carefully, you'll notice one is a bit more fancy than the rest. Ill dig out a picture when I get home.

perhaps just some humble gold trim on the armour and a white pattern on the cloth?

Painting the horse differently is definitely a step I'd take, I usually save white horses for the more important riders. Making him a distinguished war veteran also sounds good.

Maybe you could use a different colour for his clothing, sculpt a cloak if you're feeling a little more ambitious. But sometimes these things can go over the top - being a fan of subtle approaches I honestly believe your own suggestions will be more than enough to make him stand out as a captain.

And on another note, welcome back to the community! :) hope to see you around the forums some more.

Thank you all for the suggestions :P
I realy liked the idea of a cloak and i wil try to do it :P
And ofc using gold here and there as SouthernDunedain and Sid the Sloth said will definately make him stand out more. :D

All my Minas Tirith captains have white skirts to make them stand out from the base troops. This also makes it easy to represent mounted captains or make extra captains from plastic WoMTs.

Got any spare bits (feathers, ribbons etc.) Alternate colour scheme is cool but could look realy weird. I would say pimp him out with extra bits that you have laying around as long as they are scaled down to size.
