Hi,

I'm quite new to this blog, but not to the painting and collecting. I'm actually completing a Rohan army to play with the WOTR rules, and I wanted to field a mounted Hama model. The best options would be to swap the head of a footed Hama to put it on the body of a mounted Gamling or a mounted Royal Guard. I will probably go with a royal guard as it will be fielded next to Gamling and they will look to similar within my king's guard formation!

The truth is, I've never made major conversions with metal models, nothing more than a weapon swap once and a while. I was wondering what you guys use to cut through games workshop white metal. It's quite thick and I don't want to fail my headswap!

I'm eager to share photos of all my armies in the gallery, some of them are going quite huge!

Thanks for the help and sorry for my so-so English (it's not my first language!)

I did the same thing a long while back. You need a very thin saw called a razor saw or jewellers saw. The Hama body makes for a nice looking royal guard.

I don't know how much those saws cost but I just use a hack saw although it take a lot of the miniature away about 2mm worth but it could be a cheap alternative.

I just bought a razor saw (army painter brand) for 7 pounds and it's well worth it!

Yes it's not so expensive in US/Canada neither, guess I'll order one soon enough! Thanks for the answers!
