The hornblwer is amazing! The paint job was well done too, but the horn looks a bit to bright for my liking.

Love the autumn theme, you've executed it really well! Only minor quibble is the really bright green grass conflicts with their dull colours a bit. Wish I could do faces like that...

Wow! There are some seriously talented painters on this site. I have an Elf army, but after looking at the pictures posted here I would be ashamed to post mine. Keep up the good work, it inspires me to improve my work.

Some excellent stuff here you guys! I love those Court Guard - I'm looking to get a blister or two myself! When time provides I guess

@Feanor: I reckon you need to get a bit more colour into your elves faces mate! A wash of ogryn flesh usually does the trick, and then rehighlight over that!

I thought I would also join in the fun! Here are my Galadhrim - they're all the old metal Haldir's Elves. Additionally I've stuck in my WiP Haldir...It's taken me about about a year to get to this point, but I'm pretty happy with him :)

Has anyone tried using water effects on bigger bases, something like an ent/eagle, or maybe even a cavalry base?

-What i mean, is, i'd really like to have Glorfindel or someone, riding through a very shallow stream, and i want to know if this is possible, and if anyone has something similar. Or maybe gwaihir, flying over a lake.

Also, Dannis posted pictars of his Galadrahim with Glaives at the bottom of page one (the ones with the red capes). Theres some reed things poking up on 2 of the bases, and those are really cool. What are those? Where are they from?

In SBG I couldn't find enough consistency to make this look good (random models running around with water at various points just didn't appeal personally...but I get hung up on things like that  ), but in WotR it's easier for a base theme. I have a group of models ( Specters ) that I'm just starting that will be at various stages of emerging from a marsh. I'm also doing some blank round bases with the same marsh design so that as they die off I can keep the infantry-base looking good by swapping in the decorated blanks.

Having some cavalry charging thru shallow water in a similar way would probably look good and could be very dramatic too.

I'm cleaning up a second Troll for my Dol Guldur army as well as my Treebeard and have thought about some water on the base of each of those too. To me it always comes down to the edge-of-base transition though and how that can be made to look right.

these guys are very easy to paint, and i like this technique because of the darkness of the colors

anyway hope you guys like it

Question concerning the water effect,
what do you use for that?
Some PVA glue, or the "Special water effect" from GW?

Feanor, nice clean PJ. Have you considered doing a quick pass over the raised areas on their cloaks with a light blue? Might make the cloak "pop" a bit more and give them a nice finish.

So I figured after all my jawing about I should show a few of mine as well.

First up, some Thunderbolt Mountain High Elf Moon Spearmen, that I will use in a Grey Havens army some day...

Started these over a year ago, had everything done but the highlights on the cloaks and the moons, just wrapped them up the other day. Pretty much my first painted minis in this scale since I was ~12.

Couple of plastic High Elves painted to try glazing/blacklining and other techniques out to get a handle on em:

Think these turned out pretty decent, starting to get some contrast in the armor, basic faces, but I like the shading on the skin. Had alot of fun trying out glazes on the cloaks, they look pretty smooth from tabletop distance.

Finally, a comparison of sizes if anybody is interested:
