the cloaks color is just regal blue, then a heavy wash of badab black.

that's it, these guys are very simple to paint.

nice colour scheme and good painting.
But the hair of the two wood elves is a bit to white/silver for my taste (and cirdan was the only elf with grey hair)
but it's a very good scheme

these elves are supposed to date during the 1st age, during the wars of morgoth. I wanted them all to have silver hair to show that they are aged and wise..

thanks for the comment

oh yes I like the scheme as well, but i agree the two elves hair is a bit silvery, unless its just the light shinning on it when the photo was taken?

Great Work overall tho, Keep it up!

Question for painting cavalry: do you guys glue the rider to the horse, and mount the horse to the base before painting, or do everything separately? I glued everything together for my RoR, but painting the horse bellies was a bit of a chore. But as I'm going for tabletop quality, maybe it doesn't matter.

I would paint the riders seperatly but stick the horses to the bases.

whafrog, what i do is, i glue the horse on the base, then i paint the rider then the horse separately, then i put the rider on the horse, DO not GLUE him, i did that mistake before and i wanted to change it, but i can't get him off, lol

anyway, hope that helps

Thanks. Why do you not glue him after he's painted?

For me it makes them easier to transport.

I wanted to repaint him, and now I want to take the rider off but i super glued him on the horse!!!

it's going to be difficult now to paint him and the horse together, but i'll get through it!

Marvelous elves! I love the tidy painting and basing... always positive. 8)

IMO though that the elves look slightly monotone, seeing as apart from the faces and spearshafts, the models are principally blue and metal. Idk, maybe you might consider more color variety?

Good job! Keep it up!

Try brushing some nail varnish remover (not the acetone free stuff) into the joints and working it free slowly. Or warm water works well. I woulld suggest super glue remover if you can find any.

Just be warned nail varnish remover will strip paint.

Indeed, acetone is what you want

FYI. DO NOT USE ACETONE ON PLASTIC. It'll completely melt your model. Kinda like spray paint on polystyrene, if you see what I'm talking about...
