Anybody else built Suladan? He has these ridiculous horns on his chest...luckily they're a separate piece. It just seems like anybody who had that strapped to their armour would have a pretty hard time in combat. Has anybody left these off, and made a picture of the result?

I glued mine in place but regret it now, should have primered it separate and added it after I finished his face..and the rest of his torso. Him and the Serpent Guard are great concepts that could have used a bit of re-working and revision before given the production green light, they are just too "busy" IMHO

I have him but not built him (Harad is on hold for me). I was thinking about leaving them off completely. They look like they would tire out, slow down and otherwise encumber a real person and therefore not something I think should be there. Likewise with the stupid banner. Anyone smart would rush up on your blind spot and put one right thru you from behind. I thought of maybe converting it to look like it's part of the horse's saddle/wargear. Really dumb for a true warrior.

Likewise with the Serpent Riders/Guards. Make it gear for the Riders somehow but leave it off for the foot troops. I have one that I'm converting to a Mumuk driver and he has them but I think I'm going to do some work on all the others.

Just my opinion. Having had some time and (very basic reenactment based) training with real swords and armor I can say that a lot of what you see in GW's non-movie based models or in some other games/movies are just really dumb and would probably result in the death of the person against a skilled, faster foe.

My thoughts exactly. I don't mind Khand so much, as the Mongols did something similar, but it generally seems like a liability, and more GW's incredible persistence in turning everything into Warhammer. I will leave the front off Suladan then. For the back, the foot version has the arm attached to it...besides, I've already done my raiders, and we can't have a king with less decoration now, can we? :)

Bummer. I haven't looked at the model for a very, very long time.

Well, it does help ensure no one makes it up the ranks far enough to threaten him.

"Yes, you may challenge me for leadership! But you must do so with 10 pounds of horn hanging from your neck and 12 square foot of cloth and rigging strapped to your back, fool!"

Praise from the praise-worthy. Thanks.

12sq ft of cloth.... I just realized more so how poor that design is...can you imagine trying to gallop with a sail on your back? And what happens if a good cross wind hits you. I think these guys would spend more time in the dirt

My friend left it off and it looks fine, just a bit of green stuff to fill in the gap.
I took the spare piece and put it on an orcs back. it looked good.
