Hi all,

I've mostly been playing recently and want to get back into the painting side of the hobby. One question - what do you all use for basing you miniatures? Both the sand products that GW produces (the fine sand with rocks and the coarse sand) don't seem to do it for me. I read DurinsBane's "Basing Miniatures" article (very well done!), and was wondering what brand of fine talus, etc. you use. I live in the US if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

the most simple option is to go to your garden and take a hanfull of sand. :)
Sounds stupid but works fine

I used sand from your garden to.
The only problem i faced was that it didn't stick very well.
But i solved that problem by watering down woodglue en put it on 1 day after i glued the sand on.
Sand form your garden will work.
After gluing it just needs a paint job.

Green tea or oregano works nice for cheap underbrush type base.
Also, I've found used coffee is lighter and stays on the base better than sand. Just dry it well to avoid mold.
