Hey guys I've been looking through this site lately and decided to get involved! But my first post is a bit of a downer, I recently purchased the witch king on fell beast and assembled the fell beast the other day. Tonight I accidently knocked it off my desk and the clear stand broke right near the top, I've tried glueing it for the last hour or so but it just wont stick and now the plastic is starting to melt where it broke :( any ideas how to fix it?

maybe green stuff to strengthen the bond but it'll look pretty ugly though.

I was thinking that but yeah it would look ugly, perhaps a last resort. What about pinning or is it too small?

What glue are you using? sounds like your using plastic glue , if you are you'll be there for ever waiting for it to stick. Super glue is what you need matey, good old Loctite or gorrilla glue or somethin.

They sell just the bases, I wasn't suggesting a whole new model.

Hell no lol you won't need to buy another base - GW superglue will work fine, try not to get glue on the outside of the clear stalk on the base (the bit you can see) as the superglue will dry a misty white colour. Provided your careful in the superglue application you have nothing to worry about mate - it will be fine..... and be more careful lol :)

If repairing the existing stand doesn't work you could try mounting it on a large paintbrush protector.
I managed to destroy the stand for my first Winged Nazgul and that solution worked quite well. Just had to trim the top into a concave for the Fell Beast's body to sit into and it was fine.

A local art shop gave it to me for free, so it was a cheap solution too!

Ιn your case I would definately suggest pinning and perhaps you should use a 2-compound epoxy glue instead of the superglue.

I would definitely pin it, and not with a paper clip, use some brass rod and get at least .5cm of total length into the plastic, probably closer to 1cm. Just sand both sides flush before you start. Then you could use plastic glue or superglue.

I have also used a paintbrush protector to repair a broken flight stand on some of my battlefleet gothic but the sizing is tricky.

The same thing happened to my first plastic fell beast. I pinned it too and it has held ever since.
