Hello

I've been thinking a while now about how to make galadhrim elves armour shiny or glossy. I like their colour scheme but in helms deep whenever they cut to the elves the armour had lots of reflection. So I was hoping to maybe use 'Ard Coat Varnish just over the armour. Has anyone tried this? Will it work?

I was thinking the same with the 'ard coat, but I have never used it before so I can't comment on the outcome. You could try doing NMM, it is hard to pull of good and since the Galadhrim got so curvy armour it would be really hard to make it look good. But I found this pic of one that did it, is it what you are after? http://www.coolminiornot.com/34466?browseid=4113809

I'll be posting a thread in the Work In Progress area over the weekend (just have to finish the basing and take some pics) with a tutorial on painting my Elves which will explain how I do armour. In a nutshell, I just do a minimal highlight over the matte varnish on the edges of the armour plates/helmet with the lightest metallic colour (I am doing silver armour so its GW Runefang Steel.) That way, the highlights stand out as shiny but the models don't look 'old fashioned toy soldier'.
