Oh no.
How do I pin stuff?

Hobby drill, paper clip. There should be tutorials on youtube.

You may get lucky and superglue will hold him together fine but pinning gives more strength.

If you don't feel secure attempting to pin limbs, you can also try and apply a dash of greenstuff between the two parts and add superglue, which makes the greenstuff harden quicker!

Thanks SD, just watched a video on youtube about it.

@Matt: That'll be a good idea, or I could use all 3 just to be on the extremely safe side

That's about what I did but for dual reasons. First, the GS w/ superglue will help hold better than the pin alone, but also you will need to fill the gaps of the join. I personally have more success putting the GS in place during the assembly and cleaning it up rather than finishing the assembly then trying to put the GS on to fill the gap. Just personal preference.

He is metal and heavy. As such, even if you glue him securely he is subject to breakage without the pins during transports or a table top oops!

I would definitely pin his legs to torso and arms to torso. I have two of the older metal cave trolls and I tried Super glue alone, then Super glue with Greenstuff ,and finally pinned them after they broke twice previously. You can buy a pin vise and drills from GW or other hobby outfits. For the big monsters you can drill him with a hand drill or dremel, but you will eventually need a pin vise for more delicate minis (things like head or arm swaps). They way I do it is to drill a hole in each side. Test fit. Then glue the pin into the army. Squirt some super glue into the torso. Put a small blob of greenstuff on top and then jam it together. Use a hobby knife to scrape off any green stuff that is extruded from the joint. Last, I squirt some more superglue over the arm/torso joint to cover it up and then squirt it with Zap superglue accelerant.

OBTW, I just bought a Burdhur off e-bay and his is basically like the other trolls.

Lost Pict :sauron:

PS That sets my troll count to 10!

Mine is super glued and he's fine, never had anything go wrong with him, apart from paint chipping

Just bought him direct from GW - the figure is metal. Thanks for the tips on pinning - I will have to look into that when I put him together

Pin it! Tried all three ways he broke twice, pinned now and no issues

I have the Burduhr model, fully assembled, (yes indeed all metal)

He is heavy and the best option indeed is pinning. I usually use two part epoxy glue (e.g. Araldite in the UK), it doesn't take too long to set, and the metal-glue-metal bond is good. The advantage of the Epoxy glue is that it doesn't set 'hard' like superglue, there is some flexibility so any knocks or twists are absorbed better by the bond, and the join is far less likely to shear and need re-gluing.

Also as it oozes out it can fill any join and be trimmed with a craft knife.
