After searching for ages I believe I have found the best possible proxy for Dol Amaroth knights on foot, these guys:

They are very cool! I have enough Dol Amroth infantry but I would seriously consider these guys for some of the fiefdom armies that appear in the book but never got GW miniatures.

I agree with you James, but I think they're trying to emulate WFB Empire figures. Mantic is basically a GW clone, competing on price. I like them. They're cheap, and keep GW honest by providing an alternative. You know, like… a market ;).

*veers away suddenly for fear of breaking the no-GW bashing rule*

Those look quite good! With small conversions, they could make good troops from Minas Tirith, Dol Amroth or Pelargir I'd say. Very tempting to buy them!

Mantic have some great figures in their range and these guys suit foot knights of Dol Amroth very well I just hadn't put the two together before. Good spot.

Remove the plumes, maybe do a little remodelling on the helms. The paintjob should take care of the rest.

I am impressed by the quality of the sculpts, and frankly blown away by the price! However, they do appear to be in "Heroic Scale" and look far too Warhammerish for me to see them as viable proxies.

They'll be too big for LOTR I'm afraid as these guys are quite strapping to say the least.

I only ever buy from Mantic for WHFB now. The sculpts are great and fit in perfectly with GW's minis. Got 70 undead models for £20 in a bundle! Mad but great!
