Hi guys,

Recently purchased a small number of the old plastic Wood Elves and I've been looking around on the net at various colour schemes etc. However I'd really like to just stick to the original 'movie' scheme. Like the ones pictured below...

Obviously this is going to mean lots of greens/greys/browns etc but I still struggle to recognise the colours from a photo and I'm probably just plain lazy too... I'm getting better but still not been back in the hobby long enough yet!

If anyone would mind helping me out with the specific paint names I'd really appreciate it! I imagine this has been asked a million times before so hope people don't mind me asking again!

Unfortunately the paint range has been changed since then, so your unlikely to find a 100% match. Best bet is just to wing it, and try to match the colours in the photo as close as you can with the current paints. Dark grey to dark grey, green to green, etc. You ought to be able to match the shades pretty closely, ultimately the differences will be minor.

You may be able to get a closer match with another brand of paints, but some other poster will be of more help than I in that regard.

There is a paint conversion chart on the GW website, the old paints I used were elf flesh, scorched brown, mithril silver, catachan green and shadow grey.

If it's any use I put up a brief list of the paints I used somewhere in my WIP thread.
