Hello guys,

As metioned in the topic titel, I am looking for a way to give a green shade to my high elf spearmen. I am trying to paint a high elf force at the moment and I am doing good with the swordsmen and bowmen. But I want to spearmen to look different, they need to stand out from the rest. GW had a paint scheme where the spearman had that green look. If somebody knows how this effect can be done, please share it!:)

Thanks in advance!

hey sonsofhurin,

check out my wip. For my latest work on some elves, I gave the armor a bluish tint. You can do that practically with any color.

check it out, and if that's something you were interested in, let me know, i'll reply with how I did it for you.

That's nuln oil + biel tan wash. (50-50)

Apply it LIGHTLY, otherwise it will look odd.

Here's another nice effect you can achieve:

"Using the W.S. Green Undercoat, give the gold armour and the elven cloak a wash. These pigments are amazing and will fill the recesses and change the entire look of the original coating."

I read your article and would like to try the WS pigments.

What's the formula for the wash?
Pigment straight from the bottle or did you add or dilute it?

Thanks in advance

Onyx is now inactive I believe. Might be worth a PM though.
