No worries at all, understand it's reasonably short notice! What details would you like?

You can celebrate getting your assignment in by joining us! Maybe someone could give you a lift? M60 at that time is pretty easy :)

Ahhh Cheadle lights... Been stuck there on many occasions, lol

Exact detailsdof place, adress, nearby landmarks etc..

Times, starting & finishing. If its weekly, bi-weekly, fortnightly etc...

Pts values most likely, system (WotR/SBG), if there is a 1 named hero can only be feilded by 1 player rule.

Prob just work it out with some trial and error...
Could start with say 500 or 750 pts Hobbit/SBG rules (although I am equipped to play WOTR also.)
Weekly/ Fortnightly suppose depends on how often we can commit and agree to stick to it. ( Am thinking fortnightly, am chocka at the minute)

Both me and thermo are relatively beginners so will have to get a feel for it and see what suits everyone.

Address - Abney Scout and Guides Centre, Newlands RD, Cheadle, SK8 2NP (see above link for directions and image of turning off Manchester RD)

Times - Start time likely after 8.45pm when I've finished taking the final class of the day!

It'll always be a Thursday for now whilst I'm renting that place for classes, but with regards to weekly, fortnightly etc etc... just use this group and we can arrange it like this. If you want a game, we can just pop on here, see if anyone is available and do it like that. Probably fortnightly but let's see how it goes! Doesn't have to be set in stone.

I'm only really interested in SBG for now but if others want to do anything else, I'm happy (although I'm not equipped for WOTR)

In terms of points, it depends how late our girlfriend's and wives allow so think 500 is a good place to start! Happy to go even less whilst learning and maybe just use a warband.

I'm happy to work it out as we go. We have a good group here and a tool for communication and am happy to build this up slowly if everyone else is happy with that?

I'll draft a list for 250pts and maybe 500pts, both of SBG.

Won't be doing WotR this week, but would love to in the future. Hope I make it :D

It's ok Steve, it happens!

I'm happy to say though, thanks to the stud that is Hashut, our first gaming night went ahead!

Firstly, what a great dude. A top teacher... he was patient, explained everything well... and even brought party supplies!

Really nice to meet him, we gamed until about midnight which isn't bad considering much of that was getting to know each other and the rules...

My first ever SBG game experience... I had a brill time! Much of this was due to my opponent and I'd like to think we had a lot of fun. (And look forward to the next time!)

I'll put a basic battle report and the pics up tomorrow, which include some historic moments such as our meeting, the first ever board, my first ever kill and the victory shot! Mostly due to a number of factors that definitely loaded the dice against Hashut (scenario was reconnotoire, he was dwarves, table had about an extra foot to consider, he was giving me great advice and I was a shooty grey company) the Dunedain pulled through with the victory.

I certainly learned the shoot phase, let's put it that way! Picking off the more squishy dwarves (that's right, the ones that still require a 6 to wound!) until he was broken (which occured 1 movement turn from him engaging me in combat)

Considering it took hours before Hashut got a chance to do anything, this guy is a great sport and his enthusiasm persisted which was great for me as someone new to the hobby! Tonight was definitely about learning the game and meeting a new pal and enjoyed very much, thanks! (PS Hashut, forgot to exchange number so PM me when you get a chance :) )

Great minds think alike, simultaneous posting!

Haha top bloke, had a great time too, thanks for your encouragement and patience. I got lucky with that scenario roll me'thinks! And having you as a teacher!

Defo up for next week, that'll be 4 of us confirmed if Ste brings his lad.

Looks we're going to have a nice little thing going on here :)

And we'll have many more :D If there are four of us, we could always go for a 200-250pt 4 way battle royale? Or it may be smoother to do 250pts each doubles or something. Or simply have two tables, lol :D

Regardless, very keen to battle next week - got me pumped to get some more painting done (not that I've done any today :D )!

Damn right we will Pete!

I'd be happy to do that, 2vs2 250pts sounds good. Ste made a great point earlier though... Next week is valentines day! Not that I personally couldnt do it although girlfriend would probably kill me if I was as late as last time! So something smaller suits me... Maybe smaller board this time too!

Glad it got you pumped mate! Highlight of the night has to be either 1) your Khazad war cry as you moved Gimli's warband forwards through the woods on your right flank 2) when the dwarves finally reached my lines and a ranger met his death 3) when we killed the final squishy dwarf to break the force.

Will finish the battle report tomorrow for your comments! Would be great to have you down Gothmog, even if we try keep next week shorter! I know Pete was quite keen to go through heroic actions a bit more in game next week if you think you could help?
