I have 13 rohan archers, and 20 with shield or shield and spear, the only way i can field that many archers is if i make all of mine outriders. Besides shooting is quite important in rohan, i need to cut down the enemy before it gets close because of no spears/low defence. outriders make up for low defence with fate, only problem is that they don't benefit from stand fast, so unless if i use Saruman, i will lose some to fleeing. I've used them en-mass before and they worked quite well, i lost but only because i used too many in too small a game, and i used theoden as my one and only hero......

You do realise that you can have 10 normal archers still under the limit, making it 70 points for 10 instead of 100, right? Then you can field 6 outriders and have 16 bows in total. Or in fact, instead of getting Outriders, have 10 bows, then drop the banner, so you have now 91 points spare - get 2 Rangers of the North with Spears and 4 Rangers of Arnor with Spears. Effectively that will give you 6 supporters (banner can cover 6 combats in line, so supporters are better because of 2 strikes on winning instead of just 1), 16 bows and an additional 2 Might. Grey Company is always useful as an ally

Yes use the grey compagny and I think it's better to give boromir a horse boromir on horse is just a ultimate killer.
