Store is having a 500pt tournament this thursday :)

Decided to take my Corsairs instead of my Easterlings:

500 Pts - The Corsair Fleets Roster

Minor Hero (1#, 55 pts)
. . 1 Corsair Captain @ 55 pts (Hand Weapon; Crossbow; Throwing Weapons)

Corsair Raider (16#, 128 pts)
. . 16 Corsair of Umbar @ 128 pts (Hand Weapon; Throwing Weapons; Shield)

Corsair Raider (16#, 128 pts)
. . 16 Corsair of Umbar @ 128 pts (Hand Weapon; Spear; Throwing Weapons)

Corsair Raider (16#, 180 pts)
. . 15 Corsair Arbalester @ 150 pts (Crossbow; Pavise)
. . 1 Corsair Arbalester @ 30 pts (Crossbow; Pavise; Horn)

Corsair Raider (1#, 9 pts)
. . 1 Corsair of Umbar @ 9 pts (Hand Weapon; Spear; Throwing Weapons; Shield)

Total Roster Cost: 500


The last random Corsair is a monkey! He'll probably sit with the Captain and be support.

17 crossbows in total, all the rest have throwing weapons too :D 50 models, but only 2 might.

Seems pretty good.

By the way, next time your make a Corsair army list you don't need to both adding throwing weapons and hand weapons for the Raiders, as they come automatically.

I was just using Army Builder to export the list, hence all the upgrades we know they have ;)

Tis a program, then people make the "plugins" for it, so there's ones for 40k, fantasy, lotr, and so on :)

Sadly you have to pay for the program licence :(

List look good to me. 2 Might shouldnt be a problem with all those throwing weapons and crossbows, as they should just tear through enemy ranks.

Yes, you might also be able to outmanuever some opponents, as they'll be trying to avoid your throwing weapons and crossbows.

layed three games with this list last weekend, 2 wins and a draw :)
Against a khazad guard list with the 4 objectives,
Then against a Goblin list contest of champions
Then against a Easterling list with contest of champions (3 all, captain kept missing with his crossbow.. )

And the crossbows are indeed plastic archers, had their arms chopped off and given Dark Elf crossbows,

Doh! I new that........ :oops:
that's a good idea though, convert the bows to crossbows, though I personally think the crossbows look a little too cartoonish. If I were to do it I think I would look to buy some historical crossbows in bulk. Are those shields from fantasy too? At first I though they were uruk shields but they aren't?
BTW, when are you going to get these painted up? :E :wink:

Well the tournament is today :) I have my eye patch and sword ready!
Even have some purple dice with skull and crossbones as the 1 symbol! :D

Three games, can't remember what missions we're playing, but they're the more simple ones like domination, meeting engagement and to the death. Maybe contest of champions..

Well I came third!

First game was against Rohan led by the guy who gives them +1s, crossbows made short work of them. Major victory

Second game was against Easterlings in domination, I crossbowed amdur down easily, then slaughtered the rest, he broke and we rolled a 2 to continue, so was a minor as I had 3 and he had 1 objective.

So I was on the top with 5 VP's (3 for major, 2 for minor, 0 for loss)
Last game was against my friend with his Dwarves led by balin (Or dain.. 2 wounds 1 ft guy), alied with faramir on horse and 10 minas knights. Things were going well, was being mean and using in the way tests for my captain to "accidentally" kill my guys, only happened once though with him, he killed three guys before stupidly charging into combat with a dwarf and dieing.
I kept denying his hero the kills by shooting into combat with crossbows and killing my guys, ;) but in the end he sneakily got 4 when he threw an throwing weapon at one and killed. So minor victory to him!
