I also posted a 500 point Arnor list, but Dunland is another force I an interested in trying out. I came up with this little number in Army Builder. What say you?

Thrydan Wolfsbane 85
Dunlending Chieftan with Shield 55
Dunlending Chieftan with Shield 55

15 Dunlending Warriors with Shield 105
15 Dunlending Warriors with Shield 105
12 Dunlending Warriors with Bows 84 points

(if Army Builder is right)
7 Might, 12 Shots per turn, 45 Warriors on the board.

I have not nor have planned to buy anything yet, but I REALLY wanna give this list a shot and just overwhelm everything I hit with beardy sweaty pseudo scots. I also like nosing right up to the model limit and using a tactic as far from subtle as possible.

Again, I have little to no experience in writing lists, so is this any good?
Thanks

I think you can drop one of the chieftans as he is not really necessary IMHO and perhaps get some huscarls with 2H weapons to break hard troops and a banner as well.

Looks pretty solid to me as a fellow dunland player (but only in battle companies). But yeh you don't need a seconded chieftain with thrydran there so use the points to get a banner as spuds said and some wild men (meat shields).

@spuds: we don't have the rules for hurscarls at the moment so he can't really include them, unless you have house rules?

Shame it will cost sh*t loads. My army is thrydran and 3 archers at the moment and that is £23 already  :-X
Anyway good luck with it.

You're not allowed to post up offical rules but you can post up house rules.

Oh yeh sorry i forgot. Where do you get them from, because they aren't in any WD because I have got all of them since 308. Which sourcebook are they in then?
Sorry for spamming up this thread but i would quite like to use huscarls.

There is no sourcebook that contains huscarls. If you wanted a house rule, I'd guess they pretty much fill the same role as Rohan Royal Guard, without the horse option. Heavy armour, shield or 2H weapon option, bodyguard, higher fight, etc.

I thought they'd end up a bit more like Grimbold's Helmingas if you ask me but perhaps with an extra rule.

Check these out. A little converting, and there you go! Of course, they're not tournament legal, but other than that, quite useful.

Yes, they are. Just proof that GW overcharges on the plastics.

There's a review comparing the Wargames Factory Vikings to Gripping Beast's, if you want more pictures.
