So is Boromir of Gondor worth his pts at 350?

1. Which game? 2. Which profile (if SBG) 3. He's not 350 pts in any version of either game.

SBG. I meant at 350pt lvl. He is 105 in SBG.

Oh, then no. I find that you should never spend more than or even around 1/3 of your points on 1 model. I would go for a captain at that level and take more troops. At 700, he's worth it.

I can get 24 models with him and Captain. My gaming group stays close to the 30 model mark.

25 models along the weak version of Boromir... Very nice, very good, :yay:
But you can also consider to get some knights 8)

Thanks. I made the list for a doubles tournament and the Captain and WOMT come from TRoA and my partner is probably going to run Thranduil's Halls. Also this list could be taken exactly from Minas Tirith to ally with Erebor if my other friend wants me to be his partner.

350 Pts - The Fellowship Roster

Hero (1#, 105 pts)
. . 1 Boromir of Gondor (Horn of Gondor; Hand Weapon; Armour; Shield)

Minor Hero (1#, 55 pts)
. . 1 Captain of Minas Tirith [rang] (Hand Weapon; Shield; Heavy Armour)

Warrior (10#, 80 pts)
. . 10 Warrior of Minas Tirith [rang] (Hand Weapon; Shield; Heavy Armour)

Warrior (8#, 72 pts)
. . 8 Warrior of Minas Tirith [rang] (Hand Weapon; Spear; Shield; Heavy Armour)

Warrior (4#, 32 pts)
. . 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith [rang] (Hand Weapon; Bow; Heavy Armour)

Total Roster Cost: 344
Model Count: 24

Emm I think at doubles you can't have alliance in your army and you must be able to ally with your parthner...

Post subject:  Re: Boromir of Gondor

I thought you could but your whole force had to be able to your partner's force. Is the list also a good teaching list?

Post subject:  Re: Boromir of Gondor

Yes but as I said I think your army has to be from only one ,list at a double and it must be able to ally with your partner..
I would suggest if the above is right, remove Boromir, get some knights and more warriors or another captain but Thrandfuil's halls cannot ally with Tower of Eclethion

If you have to remove Boromir (which this is a solid list, if you can keep him in), I would put some Fountain Guards in there. Their special rule and 4 fight is incredibly useful. Some cavalry would be nice, and would make it easier to stay under the 30 models. Definitely get a few more archers in there.

Dude i would totaly do it no joke! just give it a go. dont worry. it might be a fun game with him. In my wotr 750 points list i have boromir and galadreil lady of lorien being almost 50% of the force points, i undestand very different games but just see what happens.

Yes, Boromir of Gondor would be worth it, as few evil heroes can match him at that level, at least in one-on-one capabilities. That being said...

Bring the elven cloak, if you can. Otherwise, I would make him Boromir the pincushion. And were I fielding my Isengard list at that small of a points value, I can guarantee that my six little crossbowmen would be in there, and would make themselves felt.

Not fun, at all. It is rather similar to running up against Aragorn the King mounted, followed around by all manner of friendly models on horses with lances. Ouch.

Post subject:  Re: Boromir of Gondor

oh dont worry that wasnt even the best army i came against

twins with high elf friends allied with king of men, armour n mounted with a host of mounted knights with lances.
It was like being stuck between a hammer and ... another hammer.

Ugh. The Elven Wall meets the Mannish Hammer. And yes, I have seen that pointed at me- though I don't really have the proper models to point it back the way it came. Death on a platter, anyone?

Ok so is Boromir COTW better than Strider for the same amount of pts?

Author:  Draugluin [ Wed Jan 18, 2012 10:18 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Boromir of Gondor

It depends, Boromir has more defense and a whole 6 might. Strider has only 3 might, but gets a free one every turn. Basically, Boromir can either do a lot of damage with his might in one turn (making sure that that troll is dead), or conserve his might for when he needs it (various heroic actions spread out over the battle. Strider can do whatever he wants with that free point of might, without having to worry about saving it. So, it really comes down to whether you need a one hit wonder or a hero who can do amazing things throughout the whole game. On a side note, both of them ought to cause terror, Boromir cause he has the Horn of Gondor, and Aragorn because of his warcry.
