I play with the elves
They are fun because you have a great advantage over the enemy because of your archers (unless you are playing against arnor) they also have fast cavalry in the form of galadhrim knights, and have high fight values (which come in handy in multiple combats) The wood elves are less durable troops, but have powerful units, such as sentinels. However, the elves lack cheap heroes (A high elf captain is 75 points)

For me, the fun in a game comes in not just winning, although that plays an important factor, but having a competitive game where the outcome can go either way. I recommend the elves. You are able to out fight and out manoeuvre most troops, and I, myself have never lost a match (although I haven't played over many)

I hope this helps. This is my opinion, other people may say the complete opposite to this, but this is what I think

I've had the most fun with Rohan, even though I usually lose with them. Elves are second, and I usually win with them.

I'd say Mordor, there so many troops to choose from you can almost build any style of army. Monsters, tough elites, squishy troops (Orcs), decent troops (Morannnon Orcs), cheap heroes, expensive heroes, two types of cavalry (warg riders & morgul knights), only thing missing really are decent archers.

I would say two options mainly.

Mordor because there are so many options and choices, you can create 5 or 6 completely different lists out of it and alternate.

Moria and stuff for the monsters and beasts because they are really interesting and fun.

What´s your taste in armies? Do you like large hordes or small elites, outmanouvering and wit or simple, brute force? I think we need to know that to say anything useful.

My personal favourite (and the only army I've extensively played) is Isengard.
