I've recently bougt a large number of warriors of Harad by Ebay and the Fallen Realms sourcebook.

I'm concidering several army setups at 500 pt but would like some advice as to wich one is most effective (generally speaking..also i have no cavalry allthough i still have enough birthday cash left to buy a unit altough fluffwise i prefer infantry/Mumak)

I think that the first list is the best, though you are over your 50% bowlimtit. you seem to like the karna upgrade, I refer watchers of karna because for 1 point extra you get an extra attack and fight 4. I myself am also collecting some warriors of karna, my army includes 17 watchers, 17 harad spear men, 2 chieftens and the betrayer.

Doh...forgot about bow limit..new idea...i drop the banner and replace Hasharin and watcher of karna with Golden King and Merchant guard..would look like this

the bow limit is 50% for harad unless you use corsairs or far harad models.

I dont understand your logic for giving the chieftain a bow in the group with no other bows.
I would drop it and make some of your harad men into proper watchers of karna. Get some F4 in there.

Thirdly why have 11pts left over? Drop 1 spear from a harad warrior in warband 2, and add 2 naked harad to warband 3.
Finally. Split the merchant guard into warband 2 and 3.

Assuming your maths was oringally right, this should be 500pts.
It has more F4 and a better balance of models in my opinion. It also makes use of the 50% bow limit.
I think something to bear in mind is that your bows won't always be able to play defensive like in LOME so adding watchers in your bow group gives you counter attacking potential.

that is looking alot more healthy. Now it is time to try it out.
Give it a few games before you really restructure or rethink. I'd be happy fielding a similar force though as I said I'd still rather have watchers rather than harad karna dudes but I have money i set asside for metals maybe you don't.

Looks better now you have elites in the correct proportion although I would put Harad w/ spear and bow behing the Guards, though you should write Abrakhan Guard not Merchant Guard.

The Abrakhan Guard cant be supported - they only ignore the -1 for 2-handed weapons

If they use their hand weapons instead of their two-handed ones they can be supported

Trade the 6th haradrim spearman for a Watcher with bow. That'll get you to 499. It's legal because you round up, not down, for the bow limit.

Abrakhan Guard are worth it without using their 2-handers, they should be 9pts for those, Abrakhan with Harad spear/bow support is the way to go 50% bows.

Of course a multitude of 2 attack Watchers is equally viable, but not necesarily always better.
