help with what to get next, Dwarves

At the moment i have:
Dain
Balin
Dwarf captain with shield
Dwarf captain with 2 handed axe
1 dwarf warrior with shield
44 dwarf rangers
What should i get next?
I was thinking about the hobbit set, 13 dwarf characters sounds cool.
Any help is appreciated.

I've got 8 Khazad Guard and 8 Dwarf Warriors if you want them?!

I heard some of the Dwarven releases next year should be good, Dwarves of Erebor and Grim Hammers...

You should get more warriors, but you could wait out for Dwarves of Erebor.

Will the dwarves of erebor look a lot different to the current ones?

And the only dwarves you saw in the movies were the grimhammer dwaves.

I would recommend some Iron Guard and Khazad Guard. Together they are a nasty combination, I use them nearly all the time in a warband with either Balin or Gimli. If I take Balin I always give him Durin's axe, it is well worth its measly points value.

A ballista is also something you should consider, as it is great at taking out some of the monsters.

The King's Champion is also someone I like to play, but recently I have dropped him in favour of more models and a banner (Always a good Idea to have a banner).

I would definitely wait until they release the models of Thrain and Thror, as their stats are pretty cool. I'm not so sure about the new Grimhammer Dwarves, their stats didn't impress me that much.

From what I remember the Dwarves of Erebor have the exact same stats and normal Dwarf Warriors, so it would just be the decision to wait for possible new poses. (There is the potential that you will get more in the box if the Goblin box is something to go by). But I would say that you need a few more warriors to get your numbers up.

If you have Rangers already, you could consider taking Murin and Drar as they allow you to upgrade Rangers to strength 4.

By the sounds of it, the difference (apart from the poses) will be that dwarves of erebor can carry a spear and thus provide support, negating a previous Dwarven handicap. Sounds like that is definitely worth doing. Thoughts all?

So as long as the erebor dwarves don't look too diffrret, I might get a set of the current dwarf warriors, kahzad guard and then waiy for grimhammers and more dwarves, with spears.
Does that sound all right?

I have 8 Dwarven warriors here too to go with the 8 khazad guard... wait out though as there is an offer on them.

I would say yes. Thorins company, including gandalf, equal about 1030 points, and they are all designed to syngergize very well with one another so they could take on a large force without getting demolished. There are also quite a few models in there who focus on regenerating each-others wounds and M/W/F who are all quite cheap, so can be used as a sort of heal squad. I do, however, think it is a damn shame that there is no option for each of them to lead soldiers, but that sort of makes sense.

Thorin, dwalin and balin can all lead grimhammers and dwarves of erebor under the erebor list.

Just to clarify SouthernDunedain, where abouts is that in the rulebook, because I can't remember seeing it. I did just skim read the rules though so that I could get playing some scenarios.
