So I am fairly new to this game and have wrote up a sample list for the dwarf army I am currently amassing. Any critique/suggestions are very welcome, and please point out if anything I have done is illegal. Thanks in advanced

Looks good and legal

I don't think You really need the hornblower as Durin already has the horn of zirak-zigil (counts as a warhorn but gives terror too).

Yes, drop the hornblower and use the points to add some extra Dwarf warriors with shields. I would also move the banner bearer to the warband of Durin.

Well, Durin, didn't live the same era as Gimli (no?) but anyway, maybe I would add a Vault Warden team, really helpful for objective-based games.

I'd drop the warhorn and get 2 more Iron Guard.

Iron Guard have never let me down in a fight, teamed up with Khazad Guard they are the stalwart of my army.

I'm not a fan of time-warp forces, so I would swap Durin with Dáin for theme and add some more Warriors. The points from swapping Durin with Dáin could buy two Iron Guards, three Khazad Guards, a Vault Warden Team + a Dwarf Warrior w/ shield, three Dwarf Warriors w/ shields + a Dwarf Ranger with two-handed weapon or four Dwarf Rangers with two-handed weapons.

@KhazadAi-Menu: Two Iron Guards are 30 points, so dropping the war horn wouldn't help.

You're right, my bad. The two iron guard would be 2 points more than a warrior with a warhorn, some people would allow a 2pt slip. If not, take 1 Iron Guard and 1 Khazad guard.

I understand what Elessar Telcontar is saying about time warp forces, but I'd be inclined to go the other way and take Mardin instead of Gimli and free up 15 points for some more warriors. With the new rules for trolls people are more likely to take them, which makes Mardin's special rule much more important.

I'd take Durin over Dain; the horn of Zirakzigil, the Crown of Kings and Durin's Axe and the higher fight value are well worth the extra 35 points. Yes you lose a point of courage, but he's still at C6, which is better than most.

but dain still has +1 because of his axe and if you put a banner next to him durin got only terror and 6+safes. And I think the war horn doesn't matter becouse of the bigger range of standfast of dain you don't really need it and courage 4 is really good for an warrior and it doesn't matter if you take iron guards.

Note. I'm not a dwarf specialist (but I know Floi is awsome)

Personally i would mix your best fighters (khazad, iron guard) into each warband as you already have a powerfull hero in that one. Definatly drop the warhorn as dwarfs have above average courage anyway. I woudnt even bother with the bows as well as they are quite expensive. Better dwarfs with swords and shields to maximise combat potention for your small army.

i'd say drop gimli's hole warband to get some spears: either balin with some erebor warriors w/ spears or a stormcaller with woodelves w/ spears

Ok I made some revisions based on your suggestions, tell me what you think

Total: 595

Durin is also a higher FV than dain. I would swap floi's warband for more with shields. If you are not an elf/ have shoot value 3 or a crossbow, bows are useless now.
