pure trolls?

I have always wanted to do this but never really got into the playing side of the game, would this list be viable at all?

Buhrdur 110 pts
cave troll 80pts
cave troll 80pts

It would of course depend on who they were facing off against. Lords of Battle would be their best scenario.

Also there's no real point to paying for the point for a spear, you'll never really use it with a troll because you'd have to sacrifice 2 of your attacks in the combat

its a short range S3 with already bad aim.. want range,throw boulders, they can do that and its way higher S

If you're going for pure Trolls, try Mordor, better fight and more heroes for larger games.

I like Buhrdur a lot and he is a hill troll chieftain and I kind of want it to be a hill troll list as a theme and from what I understand Mordor trolls are a lot bigger (base size and in the lore)

A budget wraith beefed up to 70 points would make a pretty potent 500 point list. That aura would make it harder to charge your trolls.

If you just want pure trolls, you might as well spend the extra points on spears and chains...what else is there?

yea you could make that.. haradrim character as a thrall master with some snow trolls (lil half trolls)

a pure troll army would not be good vsing rohan, elf's, fiefdom and uruk's with cross bows the amount of damage those army's can do to only a move 6 army is devastating if u only have a few troops with it on the field. i would only go for it if you know your opponent's are going to be taking.

Buhrdur is not a bad hero at all, he is importantly a troll with might points!
The biggest issue trolls will have are heroes that can heroic strike them to wound them quickly (had a game like this using three hunters against three mordor trolls).
Cave trolls are also nice and cheap, compared to other trolls and monster brutal power attacks have indeed made them powerful in game (seriously against my cavalry I almost cry).

All monster forces are starting to be seen more often, yours is at least themed. I'd suggest giving it a go and seeing how it does

This theme wont take all day. He is like 5 units. He will either slaughter or be slaughtered lol

Yeah, this is specifically why I bought the Trolls boxed set! That and the fact someone sold it to me on ebay for $44 Lol!

But yeah, Ive used them in a practice. Theyre fun! Used them with a goblin army. Lol it was hilarious!

If you wanna go for the competetive edge get the dwimmerwaik - he will stop enemies from heroic striking and can lock down an enemy hero giving you grief. I run a very similar list to this one except i go for cheese and use great goblin, burdhur, mordor trolls etc.

I'm absolutely gutted I can't get down to the desolation of stockport. I'd have tried it out there but I'm on holiday.
