So I'm fairly set on the good side of things but am looking to add an evil army to compliment. I want to spend around $100 on a 500 pt list. While each army has it's merits to me, i am having trouble deciding. Any suggestions on a good 500 pt list. I don't have to be super competitive, just fun and themed.

I have the perfect list for you! And it's under $100. $82.50 to me exact

It's 550 points thou

Warband 1
Sauron w The Ring
Mordor Troll

There you go! Quick, easy, and near invincible.

For fun, fluff and cool models you could consider Goblin Town and the trolls. The trolls are $85 and the Escape from Goblin Town box set is $125 so twice your budget but A) You get a lot more in the starter box set and B) you're bound to be able to find some good discounts/bargains on ebay or from a local reseller. You could pick up just the evil models from goblin town on ebay for about $40 I reckon so that and the trolls (new) would be just over $100. That'll also give you about a 750 point list or so.

If you're not keen on them then Fighting Uruk Hai are dirt cheap on ebay and relatively expensive in terms of points in the game so you get a good army for your buck.

66 euros for 9 ringwraiths! And you can stretch their points quite far.

I agree with the Isengard recommendation.

Ranks of Fighting Uruk-Hai are very easy to obtain and look great marching across the battlefield, but be sure to spice up the troop variation to prevent things from getting stale in the long run.

Make sure to sprinkle in a few berserkers and don’t be afraid to pick up a pack of warg riders. They certainly aren't very competitive but they are great for theme and give you a different play style that'll keep you engaged. 8)

Moria Goblins are also good and can be found cheaply. A good 500 point list would look something like this:

Durburz
12 Goblins

Goblin Shaman
12 Goblins

Goblin Shaman
10 Goblins
Cave Troll

Goblin Captain with shield
12 Goblins

That's 51 models, 9 Might and 500 points exactly. PM me if you want more information.

Moria is indeed a cheap army to get. You can often find the Goblins for less than $1 each. I just bought 23 for $17 USD

Yep, I was going to say, if you can find an old Mines of Moria set you'll have a good start on an evil army. You get 24 goblins and a cave troll. Just add Durburz, another 24 goblins, and a couple of basic goblin heroes + shaman, and you're good.

For sure isengard or Moria. Moria captains and heroes are more expensive. And there are a ton of cheap Sarumans.

Saruman isn't the best choice for 500 points though. Old metal Moria Goblins can be used as Captains in a pinch. Admittedly, the official Goblin Captains weren't widely produced like either the metal Goblins or the Uruk-hai Captains.

*Shameless plug* I have Durburz, a Shaman and 24 Goblins in my trade list that I would let go fairly cheap. *End shameless plug* :-D

*Edit* Not suggesting a cash transaction. More like I'd let them go if he were to trade me far less than their $99.50 retail cost...

I'm thinking about avoiding goblins, just because ranks of them isn't super fun to play. I actually hate the Hobbit goblins, just from a lack of variety standpoint. I tend to lean towards the Fallen Realms. I like easterlings and Urukhai, as well as Harad.

Easterlings are super fun to play, but Building up an army of them takes time (you need lots of pikes). Therefore, I suggest uruk-hai, since unlike harad you can get away with pure infantry box sets, and a few captains or crossbowmen.
