Moria Themed Hobbit SBG Army

Having never played a single game, or read a single rule during my twelve years in this great hobby, I was wondering what the points value of my current Moria army is?

So far =
Thrain (the 'un'broken)
Young Thorin
Young Balin
12 Grim Hammers ('Moria Hammerers')
12 Erebor Warriors ('Moria Militia')

Soon to include =
Grim Hammer Captain
+12 Grim Hammers
+12 Erebor Warriors

If possible, could anyone provide the points value for my army so far, and what it will be once I've made the additions at the end of this month? Also, if I need to add more information regarding points, as I am not aware of how this is calculated (i.e. does it matter what sort of weapons my Erebor Warriors have?) Many thanks!

It does matter how you equip them to determine their exact points value. For example to fully equip Thorin can add up to another 25 points.

However your initial force is over 500 points and will move to over 800 points with the editions.

Luckily for you GW released all the points and stats of models released with AUJ a while ago. You can find them all here on their website and calculate it for yourself

By the way you laid out your list, it seems you may not realize that you can only have 12 troops per hero. You just happened to fit within this restriction with this army, but I just wanted to let you know in case you werent aware of this rule.

Are you just playing an in house game with whatever rules?

rumtap = Hmm... in that case I will have to do more research, thanks for the info. Is it only heroes that have additional extras, or can the Grim Hammers also be equipped with different weapons?

Gwaryan = Thanks for the link, I will have to take a look.

legion = I have never even glanced at a single rule, so I did not know that, but thanks for the information. So in that case, would the Grim Hammers Captain count as a hero, or does that only apply to named characters. If that's the case I might have to add a Young Dwalin or King Thror to my army list.

LordoftheBrownRing = I'm not planning to play any games, at least for now, I was just wondering what my army would be worth points-wise. I'm considering starting to play though.

Just another quick question too. But if I wanted some form of ranged unit, would it be possible to add a warband of 12 Dale Archers led by Bard perhaps? Or could I even convert my Erebor Warriors with bows?

Im not too sure but i think grimhammers have thrown weapons if that's enough for you.

So if I have =
24 Grim Hammers (1 w/ banner) [289pts]
12 Erebor Warriors (w/ spear) [108pts]
12 Erebor Warriors (w/ axe and shield) [108pts]
Grim Hammer Captain [70pts]
Thrain [140pts]
Young Thorin (w/ Oakenshield) [105pts]
Young Balin [45pts]
Young Dwalin [95pts]

Am I right in thinking that would be 960pts? Also, I can't find profiles for the young Dwarf heroes, is that because I just use their normal profiles?

That is correct. At least they haven't released any new ones yet.

All models with any might, Will and/or Fate are Heroes including generic Captains (and Evil Heroes).

Erebor Warriors cannot take bows.

So does that mean I could go without Young Dwalin and use the Grim Hammer Captain? Also, sorry for my very basic questions but I have literally no experience at gaming, I'm solely a painter potentially looking to start gaming.

And if the warriors cannot have bows, would it be possible to include a warband or two of Dale Archers/Mirkwood Rangers for ranged back-up? These would be led by either Bard/Girion (when he's released), or Legolas/Tauriel?

Thanks for the info. I'm willing to wait through the TABA releases with the hope that there might be a slim chance of some ranged Iron Hills Dwarves that I can convert to Moria units - which I realise is unlikely but it would suit my army better if they did exist. Then, if not, Dale with Bard it is.
