Hi guys I was wondering what you thought of these lists? 750pts: Gil-Galad with shield (leader) 8 High Elves with Elf Bows 3 High Elf Warriors with shields Elladan and Elrohir with Heavy Armour 11 High Elf Warriors Halbarad, Captain of the Dunedain 8 Rangers of Arnor with spears 2 Rangers of Arnor Ranger of the North Ranger of the North Ranger of the North Thrain the Broken 40 Models, 15 Might, 22 Bows 500pts: Gil-Galad, shield (leader) 12 High Elf Warriors Glorfindel, Lord of the West, Armour of Gondolin 1 High Elf Warrior 8 High Elf Warriors, Elf Bows 1 King's Guard / Thrain the Broken 24 Models, 6 Might, 8 Bows Thanks, LordElrond |

Here is what I would use: Glorfindel w/ Armour of Gondolin 4x High Elves w/ Elven Blade 4x High Elves w/ Spear & Shield 4x High Elves w/ Elven Bow Elladan & Elrohir w/ Heavy Armour & Horse 3x High Elves w/ Elven Blade 4x High Elves w/ Spear & Shield 4x High Elves w/ Elven Bow Malbeth The Seer 8x Rangers of Arnor Ranger of The North Ranger of The North 750 pts 12 Might Next is my own personal list for Rivendell at 500 pts: Glorfindel w/ Armour of Gondolin 4x High Elves w/ Elven Blade 4x High Elves w/ Spear & Shield 4x High Elves w/ Elven Bow Erestor 1x High Elf Banner Bearer 3x High Elves w/ Elven Blade 4x High Elves w/ Spear & Shield 4x High Elves w/ Elven Bow 500 pts 4 Might |

Both lists look fairly decent to me. I'd consider putting spears on those rangers to get them helping out with combat. I would also probably find room for a banner in the 700 list but that's not everyone's cup of tea. Not really sure why you're needing Thrain the broken, I know he's a cheap hero but a regular elf will probably be more reliable. Unless you take Halbarad's banner, would that make him auto pass? |

Yes, It's a good idea to put spears on the rangers. The obvious thing to do to do this is to drop Thrain, but I like using him because he is fun to use/ funny. I'd really have to downgrade Gilly or the twins to erestor to get a banner, and this would give me spare points for equipment or more warriors, but I'm pretty set on using Gil-Galad and the twins this time. But I might try a list like how you suggested in the near future because it seems to have a lot of potential. Not sure about Halbarad's banner's effect on Thrain as he doesn't have to pass it, he has to pass it on doubles. A little help here please? I'll write the updated army lists when I get home. |

The updated 750 list has been edited into the OP. Just realised that in my 500pts list, if I take Thrain, I will be over the bow limit, so I'll either take a King's Guard or a high elf with shield. Opinions on this? C&C for both lists please. Thanks, LordElrond |
