Post subject:  Potential thematic allies for a Galadhrim army
So I've been tweaking with my set army list for Galadhrim, and I normally have army lists at 1500 points. I'm thinking of adding allies to that force in the 500 point slot.

Below is my typical 1000 point Galadhrim force (cut out from my 1500 points force) and any improvement suggestions are welcome. Mainly, I'm just looking at adding thematic allies to this force. I'm not the greatest at army making, so I'd love to hear from more experienced players :-D

Warband 1 Celeborn with Heavy Armour, Elven Blade and Shield 150p

12x Galadhrim Guard, 6 with Spear and Shield, 6 with Elven Blade 126p


Warband 2

Rumil 70p

12x Guards of the Galadhrim Court 144p


Warband 3

Haldir with Armour and an Elf Bow 80p

12x Galadhrim Guard, five with Elven Blade, six with Elf Bow, one with Banner 151p

Warband 4

Galadhrim Stormcaller 60p

12x Galadhrim Guard, six with Spear and Shield, one with Banner, one with Warhorn, 4 with Elf Bow 151p

932 points 10 might, potentially 11 shots, 52 miniatures

68 free points

Normally I'd have cavalry in my force, but that'd mean less model count in this force, and I could be easily overrun if I'm not careful.

As I said, I'm looking for 500 points worth of thematic allies for this force. Thanks,

Aragorn with some Rohan allies. I know he can't lead them but it has a Helms Deep theme.

The obvious theme, as Elessar95 suggests, is Rohan for a Helm's Deep theme.

I suggest an Ent squad, to represent the Battle of Lothlorien. In the books, the elves of Lothlorien are under siege from armies of moria goblins, and the Ents (led by Treebeard) show up and crush the orcs as they're driven away from Lothlorien by Galadriel's power. My other suggestion is Mirkwood/White Council, for a Dol Guldur theme.

Rivendell perhaps? The only issue is that visually, they would look almost identical excluding the slight variation in colour. You would probably even use the same Galadhrim miniatures. Mirkwood would look better visually, as you'd be able to distinguish both Elven factions easily on the battlefield, particularly if you use the new Hobbit Mirkwood Elves, which are excellent!

just a question : What is the benifit of spending a point on the galadhrim guard rule ?
OT:
I combine the galadhrim with rohirrim (on foot) But am not sure yet in which form. Either grimbold and a lot of str 4 axe warriors to add a fighting punch, or erkenbrand with alot of axe armed warriors.
