Hey guys,

Just trying to think up a list for DoS 2.0, but kinda stuck atm, here's what I have for now.
I have Arbalesters etc but I'm not sure how useful ranged weaponry will be. I'll have to take another look at the scenarios.

Warband 1 5/12
Suladân the Serpent Lord with Horse;
5 Serpent Rider
----
Warband 2 12/12
The Golden King of Abrakhân
6 Corsair Reaver
6 Mahûd Warrior with Spear;
----
Warband 3 12/12
Corsair Captain
6 Corsair of Umbar with Spear;
2 Mahûd Warrior
4 Half Troll of Far Harad
----
32 models, 7 Might, 0 bows.

Obviously who's in what warband etc, can be switched around. Also have a Hasharin or two which could be put in.
Thinking of possibly adding in some Haradrim Raiders and making the first warband full cavalry.

Thoughts? :P

Needs more cowbell and less sea-rat.
looks solid. I'm not a fan of Umbar at all so my suggestion would be dump them for a Mahud King and some Abrakhan Guard as you have none

I would take mahud with shields only the few models in there you can actually get decent defence...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

James, are you suggesting droppng the Reavers to replace with Abrakhan Guard? If so I think I prefer the Reaver, the higher fght is more useful imo, and with Piercing strike they'll be at least the same strength. The other Corsairs are more for spear support for the trolls and to bring F4 to the table alongside the Mahud. Good idea about the Mahud King, it's a shame I don't own one atm though. :(

Galanur, all Mahud automatically come with shields, hence why I haven't written them down. :) , but you're right, the defence boost is a biggie with Harad.

I was saying drop all the Corsairs. Personally I hate the aesthetic and they're the worst represented units in the game. Way OP. And as to the reavers being "better" I don't agree personally. If you feint with the Abrakhan Guard you will kill most things on a 3 or 4+ and reroll 1's thereby only falling 1/6 times (roughly, as I don't consider a reroll a failure). If paired with a Serpent Guard you lose nothing by feinting as you keep the 4 FV

Good point James, I've had a look at the list, and made a few modifications, sacrificing numbers but making it more killy.

if you fight elves you can faint but would be nice for example fighting rohan in which heroes are normally fight 5 meaning if they fight reaver or they trust the dice rolls even on tie ups or use miht points which is good for you cause youre making them waste points on regular troops.

I dont think you shoudl had alot reavers but a couple would be nice... Although all this dont seem much like abrakhan army like...

But anyway whats wrong with corsairs? Abrakhan are mercenaries, its normally and pretty obvious they could hire some pirates and such...

IMO Corsairs should not be fight 5. Except for maybe their captain. The stat lines show GW loves them, they did nothing to warrant such impressive stats from the films or books

I personally really like Corsairs. But for a change I've taken them out of the list above, do you think it looks better or no? :P
Galanur you're right, surely an army of Abrakhan can hire whoever the King wants (I know that sounds like a terrible excuse to play unthemed units), so Corsairs shouldn't stretch the imagination THAT far should it? Anyway in the second list it's mainly Mahud, which, while not being great suit it better fluff wise, especially with the king in there. I'm just worried about the numbers at 600 points, but Courage tests won't be a problem with Suladan's double Stand Fast and all the spare Will of the Golden King. :)

I like list 2 cuz I love Mahud King's mounted! Absolute monster on the charge, couple him with the Golden King to create the "meat grinder" lol.
Meat grinder recipe:

1 Str 4 hit on the charge
7 Dice to win the fight
1 Banner re-roll
6 Str 5 strikes with a +1 to wound
8 Str 4 strikes with a +1 to wound

Annihilate enemy model and repeat.
