so regularly play at 1200pts and figured this is my Core list coming in at 810pts wondered what you lot would suggest for the last remaining points. I do already own all these models so don't have to worry about scouring e-bay for serpent guard/riders which is nice. Just looking for advice on where to go from here.

Warband 1: (171pts)
Chieften + bow + spear
12 watchers of karna with bows

Warband 2: (153pts)
Harad king on horse + war spear
6 Serpent riders

Warband 3: (301pts)
Golden King
6 serpent guard
6 half trolls

Warband 4: (186pts)
Hasharin
6 Abrakain guard
6 serpent guard

Personally I think, at 1200 points you need more Cavalry or more hard hitting units. You certainly have many of the latter with abrakan guard, watchers and half trolls, but I just say fill in with more. Either that, or spam up some Haradrim Raiders. There is alot of power behind such a cheap cavalry unit......For now your list seems to be everywhere in its focus for a balanced list. This is fine, but I just prefer to spam a unit to help dictate my style of play.

also, although I think you should definetly have a ringwraith to add here. Maybe not the Betrayer, but certainly some kind of ringwraith to deal with big threats you will likely face at this point level.

Lastly, trade the Hasharin for Dalamyr....10 points more is worth it for the transfix ability.

My main opponent runs Isengard so have learnt to take this that can crack armour. I have used the betrayer on horse before and he is not too shabby hanging with the watchers of karna to improve their bows then moving up to support the serpent riders just before their charge meaning they re-rolls 1's and 2's do nothing on 3's and kill on 4-6. meaning they do nasty stuff to uruks. I feel like the unit could do with a banner though as it is very important to win the combat with cav.

a 2nd unit of cav is something considering (or fast moving infantry unit) maybe wargs led by a chieften to send in waves, or 6 muhud raiders - but both only have fight value 3 which is a bit low for fighting uruks.

considering some mahud for the higher defence and STR possibly with blowpipes just to get a few extra shots in.

have run Guluvhar in this list and he is a finesse piece but is great at killing all those support pieces (like fury shamans) and hurling models through pike lines/laying the smack down on trolls.

toying with the idea of a mumuakil - might change my opponents tactics from bricking up somewhat.

Well with 400 points you've got a lot that you can do. IMO the top two options would you Fell Beast and Mahud (as you mentioned earlier. Neither option is cheap, cash-wise, but both add a lot to your army.

A Mumak is also a good idea, it just requires some practice to maximize effectiveness.

Tbh I'd probably suggest more cavalry, so you can flank any pike blocks and hit from multiple angles at once. Plus with how points heavy Uruks are you aren't paying much more per model

was considering these two warbands:
Warband 5: (171pts)
Wild Warg Chieften
12 wargs

Warband 6: (215pts)
Suladan on foot with bow
12 watchers of karna with bows

You can bring the Wargs. They're not very good beyond their speed. They don't get Cav bonuses so they're just infantry with larger bases.

I'd also recommend giving Suladan a horse. The 4 attacks will give any Isengard hero trouble

AHHHHGH did not realise! their was me thinking wargs where the cheapest cav around.

ummm gonna have to rethink this a bit then.

just re-checked Dalymir and might have to find the points to upgrade the hasharin to him (will help with cave trolls) and agree Suladan much much better on horse. ummm.

Will have a quick look to see if can spot a mumakil guide on the forums in terms of passangers/upgrades.
