I am personally a fan of your second list. You get more Heroes, same amount of troops, more might, and priority re-rolls. The downside is Thorin gets downgraded but honestly, the old Thorin was still very good.

Overall I think the list is very strong. You have lots of shooting and support for your dwarves. Your army is never leaving when broken as long as Thrain is alive, and your heroes are practically unkillable. Also, Grimhammers do a pretty decent job of taking down enemy cavalry which could be a threat to your list. I just like to use the bash special rule to knock them to the ground.

I guess if youre going for theme I understand but id never personally take thror and thrain in the same army. Very point heavy.

But if i had to choose i agree the second list is good.
