Hi everyone !

I currently have a 500 point easterlng force which had the witchking on horse, 6 kataphracts, 8 warriors with shield, 4 with pike, 8 with bow.

I am now looking for another 500 point force to be a stand alone force or to go with the force above. I would like to point out I use the old army rules that do not need warbands etc so thereis no restriction there.

I am happy for changes to happen to the old force as well in order to make a decent combined 1000 ponts army or a singke 500 points army.
Ultimately I am looking for something quite different to what I have in my other armies, which are last alliance ( numenor and high elves), Ronan, and the above of easterlings.

I hope I made sense here and look forward to suggestions !

Two boxes and a blister army, those were the good old days when person could start up this game in one stop to the store.

As for starting another evil army, Mordor has just about the most options for variety that will allow you to continue to add too or change up for many years to come. Also it fits thematically with Easterlings in an allied force...Plus you can still further go with Harad or Khand without breaking stride for theme. Also your Witch King Model can be used in either army, thus you can focus on troops first. You have plenty to choose from.

Hi,

if you want to have something completly differnet, why dont you try an all hero army? If money does not matter, a shire army would be very interesting.

An other very fun 500 Pts. army would be:

- Radagast on sleigh
- Gwahir
- 2 Great eagles

This army is very fluffy, can be played with your existing armys and could also be used with the new Hobbit rules. However, this army is not as strong as it could be if you dont use the Hobbit rules.

If you want a mass army, what about this?:

Grôblog
16 Moria Goblin Warrior with Shield;
16 Moria Goblin Warrior with Spear;
16 Moria Goblin Warrior with Orc bow;
1 Warg Marauder
1 Cave Troll

Moria Goblin Shaman

Total: 500 Pts.

You could also tell us, if you want to have a competitive army, a fluffy army... On what do you focus?

Hey guys, thanks for the quick responses :)

For armies I tend to try for fluffy armies, for example my last alliance army has the three major heroes, elendil isildur and gil galas in. Having said that I like to make sure its a relatively strong list too so I'd say a mix of the two.

There is a restriction on price but I always try to get second hand where I can so its not always an issue :)


I have been thinking goblins and their options but I'm not sure if I'd rather stick with the Mordor theme for my evil forces, I was considering Moranon orcs or orcs and trolls something to break up the usual same defence etc.

If you want a change from easterlings, morannons are not the option for you. The stat lines are kinda similar.

What about a Cirith Ungol force? Again, you can use the witch king, but why not add try out trolls, shelob, cheap orc warriors or mordor Uruk hai.

Ok so I have thought about going with Moria as that is something a bit different, so here goes my attempt at a Moria list.

Cave Drake

Durburz

12 Goblins with bows
12 Goblins with shields
12 Goblins with Spears
4 Black shields

4 Black shields + spears

I would love to have more Blackshields as the models are ace but financially it would be a pain to convert to :P

So what are you thoughts guys ?

Uh just so you know you can post individual points of models on the site. Might wanna edit that. I do like how it looks though. And yeah, just convert a bunch of blackshields.

Hey sorry about that, I never noticed that rule when I checked the rules all edited out for you :)

I'm having second thoughts on the drake as it is kind of an expensive model, so what would be suggestions on replacing 192 points?

I had an idea for a Mordor force which is as follows,

Shagrat with shield

Gorbag with shield

Grishnak with Shield

Mordor Troll

Either - 12 Morannon orcs with shield

12 Morannon orcs with spear and shield

and 10 or bows.

OR

12 orcs with shields

and 12 orcs with spears


the second option leaves me with 96 points i believe

Any thoughts ?
