Hey all, I've decided to do an army based on Balin's ill-fated expedition but using all Hobbit Dwarf models. Here she is: Balin's Retinue - 215pts Balin, Son of Fundin with Durin's Axe 5 Khazad Guard 5 Iron Guard Loni's Scouts - 141pts Dwarf Captain (Loni) 6 Dwarf Warriors with Dwarf bow 3 Dwarf Warriors with 2-handed axe Frar's Kinband - 170pts Captain of Erebor (Frar) with shield 5 Warriors of Erebor with shield 6 Warriors of Erebor with spear and shield Oin's Band - 170pts Captain of Erebor (Oin) with shield 5 Warriors of Erebor with shield 6 Warriors of Erebor with spear and shield 45 models, 9 Might. 696 points total. |

I do like the list, but I would suggest taking something else to pack more of a punch. I understand your army's theme, and if thats what you wanna stick with, its a nice list. Id still prefer having something stronger in there. Maybe at least more Khazad Guard. |

It look solid enough. The only thing I would do is drop the iron guard from Balins band and replace them with a banner and another khazad or two. Since the old dwarves don't have spears baking them a banner might help them hold the line. Perhaps change the ranger with two handed axes into iron guard if you can. Since you have the khazad for going two handed for some punch. |
