Mumak challenge: 750 point competitive army

Despite the crippling nerfs that have ruined the Mumak for tournements (no Barge, climb test for Ropes, Beastmaster with no In The Way, a Fight Value that nearly guarantees losing to cheap heroes, etc.) I'd like to dust off my Mumak and take a shot at it. Help me improve this:

Mumak with Beastmaster and Repelling Lines
10 Watchers of Karna with Bows
1 Harad warrior with Horn

Harad Chieften Mounted w/ warspear
8 Serpent Riders

ShadowLord on Armoured Horse

ShadowLord directly in front is within 6 inches of Beastmaster (base to base), Horn should guard against failed Courage tests. Repelling Lines can put Watchers of Karna in the fight--except that a special rule has them falling on a roll of 1 (descending a rope usually requires no Climb Test) --which will kill between 10% and 20%.

Is that special rule a reason to forget Repelling Lines? I could replace it with Gnarled Hide, use Warriors of Karna instead...

Trade in the horn for King Mounted with War Spear? Probably not worth it...

What do you think? Other suggestions?

It's too bad a lot of those changes were made to him. This is a problem as with other facets of the game it forces us to make a cheesier army around it.

Regardless your army is solid. Shadow Lord is great, Serpents are too. Horn, watchers, etc.

You put in all the right pieces.

Thanks. I forgot that Taskmaster cannot be crew, unfortunately. That would have helped. Corrected.

What do you think of Repelling Lines vs Gnarled Hide?

First off let me pre empt what Im saying that explaining Ive never used a Mumak..

BUT, from what I've been told by people who do use him, use the Gnarled Hide and Beastmaster as the top two.

makes sense...protects him from regular troops scoring a simple 6.

I use a lot of defense 6-7 troops usually.....the 6's always come man.

I have had a half of a year of rolls that I only want to describe with cursing hahaha.
