Hi folks!

Continuing in my love for all things 'the North' in Tolkien's universe, here is a little list themed around the fall of Arthedain. It could easily represent an Arnor faction in the latter days of the war, or survivors after the fall of Fornost.

Cheers!

Warband 1:
Arathorn (representing Aranath or some generic Arthedain prince)
12 Rangers of Arnor, 4 with spear

(175 pts)

Warband 2:
Malbeth the Seer
12 Warriors of Arnor, one with banner

(201 pts)

Warband 3 & 4:
2 Rangers of the North

(50 pts)

Warband 5:
Peregrin, Captain of the Shire
8 Hobbit Militia
4 Hobbit Archers (upgraded to Tookish Hunters)

(74 pts)

Total: 500 pts exactly

I think it could be quite fun to play actually! 3 full warbands at 500 pts is not bad, I have a strong 3 attack hero, and a truly atrocious amount of shooting.

A quick rules question: I am worried it is illegal however, as I may actually need an additional Ranger of the North to make the Grey Company bow limit rule work. I don't have my Kingdoms of Men book in front of me so I am not sure at the moment. If so I can drop the banner for an extra ranger.

My Armybuilder says "Yes, you need that extra Ranger of the North to make the Grey Company rules stick", so yes, drop the banner. And rather than the Tookish Hunter upgrade, I would max out Ranger spears, as your poor little Hobbits will need the F4 spear support.

But why all that trouble for an extra 4 rangers? You could trade in your RotN and extra Rangers for another Hobbit war band. 24 Hobbits backed by 24 F4 spears: 16 bows, 16 D6 shields, with only Goblins to beat you in model count...plus Fatty Bolger!!!!! Whoa.
