Hello! I just got started with SBG and would like some advice on an army build for Minas Tirith (so no hobbit products). Any tips or builds are welcome!! Around 500 points and with a budget of 100$. |

Warband 1 12/12 Knight of the white tower 1 warrior of minas tirith; banner; shield 3 warrior of minas tirith; bows 4 warrior of minas tirith; shields 4 warrior of minas tirith; shields; spears Warband 2 12/12 Captain of Gondor; shield 1 warrior of minas tirith; warhorn; shield 3 warrior of minas tirith; bows 4 warrior of minas tirith; shields 4 warrior of minas tirith; shields; spears Warband 3 5/12 Captain of Gondor; shield; lance; horse 5 Knights of Minas Tirith; shields 500pts This is probably your best bet, at a bit over 100$ but it's a really good foundation. The only thing it's missing is dismounts for those mounted models. Alternatively a bolt thrower instead of the knight, just unsure if you want to get into war machines if just starting out. This is made from 1 box of gondor commander, 2 boxes of warriors and a box of knights. |

Warband 1 8/12 Boromir, Captain of the White Tower with Horse; Lance; Shield; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; Spear; ---- Warband 2 8/12 Faramir, Captain of Gondor with Heavy armour; Bow; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; 4 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Shield; Spear; ---- Warband 3 8/12 Damrod, Ranger of Ithilien 8 Warrior of Minas Tirith with Bow; ---- 495pts Alternatively you could take this then for just over 100$ but I think the first list is better for starting out. Boromir, Faramir and Damrod and 2 boxes of WoMT |

They can be, but they may not be as useful at 500pts and for a beginner. I would suggest the first list as it gives a taste of a different type hero e.g. the KoTWT and a different unit type in the cavalry. The numbers help at this many points and the banner and horn help with survivability. |

These units would be buyable at price of 106 euros and form next army: *Faramir, heavy armor, bow -3 citadel guard -3 warrior of minas tirith -6 ranger *Captain of Minas tirith -3 citadel guard -8 warrior of minas tirith *Damrod -6 ranger -6 knight of minas tirith Overall: 476, 6 might, 38 units. A bit some fix and this would work. Opinions? Btw, captain is converted from a normal soldier that raises his sword. Just leave him without shield, and he will do fine as captain. Rangers are not ithilien rangers atm, u would get those 12 points from there. I am not sure if there is 1 bow too much, I let others answer that. |

For Salattu's list you would need to buy Faramir and Damrod, 2 blisters of Citadel Guard, 2 boxes of warriors of Minis Tirith, a box of rangers of Gondor and a box of knights of Minis Tirith. |

Salattu, your calculation for the bow limit is off by one if you include all twelve rangers and no warriors of Minis Tirith with bow. In any event you only get eight models per box of warriors modeled without bows in each box. That means to have twelve warriors of Minis Tirith with sword and shield or shield and spear (11+the capt) you'd need two boxes. And would it kill you to list out the gear they are supposed to have? |

True. There is 2 options. If you want rangers. You could do it by simply adding 1 more melee unit. Then it would be tournament grade. Of course, you should also deal that warriors with bows were in fact warriors without (or with) shields. Or another choice is to forget rangers. Then your army could contain: -Faramir + damrod -6 citadel guards -24 warriors of minas tirith, 1 modified -6 knights of gondor Price of 104,5 euros. Giving still 8 archer, though not just as good as rangers. |
